This forum is insanity. It is almost impossible to track conversations so far as I can tell. Could be that I'm not all that bright and am missing the obvious, but the forum operation does not seem very smooth.

It is an existing book list, seems to me as busy as he and his crew are with this, the radio, the TV, that using existing material where ever possible is a smart, time saving idea.

Those of us who are on Intense Debate should be following each other btw. If we are in agreement, like minded persons that is, then we need a way to stay connected, share ideas and discuss.

I couldn't agree more. Lot's of energy here, but no focus. The first step is to make sure we ourselves are informed, then our families, the the guy next door and so on down the line. We share and dispense this information, we use tools like the 5000 year leap to keep ourselves sharp and to sharpen others. As I've said in other postings here, we fight to win hearts and minds. This isn't just about winning the next election. That is the easy part. It's about achieving something that will last for generations to come. If we do not win hearts and minds we can win the next five elections, but the nation will drift off course again sooner or later. We have to instill these principles and values in our children and they in their children. We have to share and exhibit these principles and values in our communities. We need to work at winning elections, but not just at winning elections. If we all run off half cocked with half cocked ideas then we will accomplish nothing and the project will fail.

Weblicated, I think that is exactly the idea, "It must start in our own communities". It starts within our own homes, to our schools, our churches, etc... It can easily spread across the nation like wild fire in this way.

Dick, #tcot (top conservatives on twitter), #sgp (smart gilr politics) and others who organized the majority of tea parties last time have another round organized for 4.15.09. There is one planned for Mass currently, though perhaps not in your area. Currently they are planned for Boston and Worcester. I mention this not to promote #tcot or anything, but because I assisted in organizing the last and the upcoming tea party in Denver. There were several small groups trying to organize tea parties around the metro area, but I believe by coming together we had a much more successful event than had we all held our own little events. Another will be held nation wide on July 4th. http://taxdayteaparty.com/teaparty/massachusetts/ <a href="http://www.tcotreport.com/" target="_blank">http://www.tcotreport.com/ I believe these tea parties are great, I am glad to be a part of them, but we also have to join each other in more personal settings. Discuss ideas, discover solutions, etc... We are not going to change government by protest only. 5000 year leap study groups, things of that nature and then taking the information and knowledge that we learn from each other, the ideas we get from each other and dispensing it among family and friends. Win hearts and minds. The more individuals we win over, then the more people we have to put pressure on our government to return to the ideals of our founders.

A postal worker just posted here saying it is very unlikely a tea bag in an envelope would survive the machinery. I would suggest printing an image of a tea bag. You could find one via Google images.

Let's use the crayon provided us by the founders. It is not being used as intended and that is the problem.

Almost all of of are able to print an image of a tea bag however. While it might be a bad idea to send a physical tea bag, a printed image produces the same result. As well you can write on that image a short (appropriate) message. Disgruntled... I'm scared given your screen name and your occupation. :)

Hi Ann. If you are around the Denver metro area please do join us April 15th 12:00 PM at the state capitol for the Tax Day Tea Party. We organized the last one in about four days and had 200 people give or take. We have been organizing this one since the day after the last tea party and expect a sizable crowd. We'd love to have you, you are not to old. In fact, if you some words you'd like to say make reply back to me here and I'll be sure to set aside a few minuets for you to speak you mind that day. Or if you just want to get a good spot up close then we will get you a good spot.

An idea that might work is one similar to the Red Envelope campaign. In this particular campaign thousands of persons across the nation are going to send a letter to President Obama on a specific date, all letters sealed in a red envelope. In this case the letter concerns his stance on abortion. Take that idea and instead use a tea bag. A specific date that Americans all across the nation mail a tea bag to the White House, addressed to President Obama. Problem is, someone has to organize this and generate the interest, pick a date, etc.. It is something I have considered trying to put together but can't say as I'm real good with the little details of things and not sure I am a person who could generate enough interest in this type of thing. But I think the idea is a decent one. If some odd thousands of persons (or more) all sent out tea bags (better would be a printed image of a tea bag, as a real tea bag would not make it to the mail room. The envelopes would all be ripped open for inspection) then for at least a few days these tea bag mailings would filter into the White House mailing system. They would not go un-noticed. Each person sending an image of a tea bad also writing their name and state and perhaps a short (appropriate) message on the tea bag image. Not sure if this sounds like a good idea only to myself or if others might take an interest in it. If it looked like some kind of interest could be generated I would create a website for it and run with it.

Starting such a movement would be great, not likely to produce results for untold years however. Though that doesn't mean it should not be done. The Left stole this nation one person at a time, we have to win it back in the same way. We start first by not being silent about our political and religious/moral views. We are not invasive, rude loud mouths, but when the opportunity is there we take it and we challenge others. We need to learn and inform ourselves and then share that information. We can do this by way of such things as beginning a study group for something like the 5000 year leap. Where appropriate we organize and hold rallies and when doing so we conduct ourselves like reasonable persons making a clear distinction between ourselves and the Left. The Left is prone to violence and threats of violence when they gather and rally/protest. The point of all the above being, for decades the Left has joined together informed each other, plotted a course together and acted on that. They make themselves heard via editorial pages, rallies/protests and grassroots groups. We can and must do similar. If we as like minded Americans do not join together in our churches, communities, states and nation then we will never win the hearts and minds of the rest of our fellow citizens. We cannot take our nation back without each other.
