Houpe was the subject of a criminal investigation for this incident. The SBI of course has no agenda or local people to impress and therfor conducted the investigation with facts as they were discovered. The DA even (unecessarily) commented on the actual evidence that was turned over to him. The facts cleared officer Houpe of any criminal wrongdoing ! . I am very disappointed it took a DA 8 months to make a decision in the case. I am sure it took only 6 to 8 weeks for all but the blood test of the suspect for alcohol and drugs to be turned in. Now there is a person with an agenda!! Instead of telling the media what all and how much was in the suspect's blood, he cowardly waited several months and after phone calls from the family of the deceased had slowed drastically before making his decision. Simple but sad fact is, this man created his demise. Whether we agree or not definately is of no concern to anyone. But I would like to see all those anti police comments or anti Houpe posts put a uniform on and work for $13.50 an hour and then tell us what an officer should do!
