Breitbart.tv : Perry: Romney, Paul Have 'Interesting Partnership' During Debates

Can any of the supporters of crazy Uncle Ron explain why he has not uttered a single criticism of Romney, either in the debates or in his advertizing, while attacking all of the others in the race. And vice-versa. Ron Paul is no Republican. Read up on the man he admired the most, Murray Rothbard, a self described anarcho-capitalist who criticized our entry into WW2 and advocated isolationism, in fact argued that in a purely libertarian world there would be no foreign policy since there would be no States. Ron Paul wrote of him: I loved talking to this down-to-earth genius. And he told me heenjoyed meeting a Congressman who had not only read his books, but used them as a guide in his votes and legislation. A close and lasting friendship was the result, which wasn't hard. Murray was the sweetest, funniest, most generous of men.

Breitbart.tv : Female Colonel On Santorum: I 'Wanted To Go Kick Him In The Jimmy'

31 years in a department that was known as one of the finest, then wholeheartedly embraced the diversity, that I believe people who see the FD arriving at an emergency, could care less about. The department I left had become a laughingstock because of lowered standards and I was fearful every day that I would be incapacitated in a fire and the only one there (that's another thing - who is there) couldn't get me out. I didn't feel that way before the lowering of standards. Sure, they try to teach techniques to overcome the lack of strength, but the question is: Do you, as a taxpayer, want the best and brightest to come out and do a very strenuous job, or a diverse set of responders who may, or may not, be able to get it done? You see; they are never called out for failing to do the job.

What is most interesting in the current flap over government employee pensions is the number of people who insist that these employees be put into a401k type of system and out of "defined benefit" plans while accusing W of a new "slaughter of the innocents" when he proposed something similar, albeit much smaller in scope, for SS, the most unsustainable defined benefit plan in existence.

How many writers here have ever said, when offered a raise or increase in benefits: "Oh no! That's just too much for me to be given"? While it may seem expedient to make those, who accepted the increased pension, pay the real culprits are the politicians who offered these packages and get to walk away unscathed, in fact they are made to look good by media types who tout how they saved the taxpayers - in the current budget - by keeping employee raises low, but not mentioning the future cost associated with the deal.

Big Government : 2012 Campaign: When Did Honesty Become Optional?

How often does one see a story in a newspaper, since it is newspapers who can go beyond the 10 second attention span of TV news, that doesn't look to a government solution as a result or a government failure as the cause? Freedom of the press, given in the very first of the Bill of Rights, is an awesome power but it has been misused to promote, particularly by accepting lies from one side and attcking truth from the other, a system where government reacts to media dictates while the same media manipulate the populace into thinking it is the "right thing to do". It is the mainstream media that has become the biggest threat to our freedom and they have an almost perfect protection granted in our Constitution. The only solution is to become more informed through the alternative media, and we now have that at our command but it will take effort.

The press became overrun by people who think their job is to change the world into what they think is the correct way of being. In the process they realized that theirs is a great power to shape policy, since creating a crisis, even if the general populace doesn't consider it one, engenders government action.

The biggest culprit here is the press, and all its extensions. Freedom of the press was intended to prevent the government from controlling what we, the people, are informed about. So that we can make sound decisions on how this country should be run. (Continued since I haven't figured out how to do one of those long posts some get away with)

Having been there; I doubt that the Fire Department report exists because it is severely frowned upon to tell the truth that the vast majority (in my experience 99.99%) of female firefighters CANNOT do the job adequately. PC would prevent any department from saying so, however.

Big Government : Why Mitt Romney Will Win the Nomination

Since Obamacare (line and verse with Romneycare) has, as its goal, to make helth insurance so expensive, or morally objectionable (see "contraceptive" mandate) that the sheeple will cry out for a full government run system. If Romney couldn't figure that out when all of the Mass. legislators, who openly desire "single payer", went for this sceme, he doesn't deserve to be in charge of an outhouse. P.S. You're right about Santorum. Boy the BG people really have it out for Newt.

Big Government : Sens. Ayotte and Shaheen: A Contrast in Honesty and Leadership on Religious Liberty

“This mandate places religious institutions in this impossible position of violating their core beliefs in order to comply with the mandate or dropping employee insurance coverage altogether." Key phrase here "dropping employee insurance coverage altogether". This is the goal of Obamacare. Force employers to drop coverage because the mandates have become too expensive, or in this case a violation of their beliefs. Next to make individual coverage too expensive (already happening and no complaints from the usurper or his admin). Then you will have enough people clamoring for - the ultimate goal - universal government run health insurance. Don't be surprised if the SCOTUS strikes down the individual mandate and the response will be "OK since we can't force everyone to pay then the only way we can accomplish full coverage is universal government run health insurance and we will just tax you for it - we can tax all we want."

Didn't Newt advocate something similar? The "legal" system in this country needs massive overhaul. The incestuous relationship of judges and lawyers inhibits its proper function. "Case law" is nothing but lawyers getting together with judges to subvert laws passed by representatives of the people. Even Publius, who I suppose is a lawyer, displays legal thinking when he states "It was the first such ban to take away marriage rights from same-sex couples after they had already secured them." The "right" was secured through the left's most intrusive, yet effective, method - by judicial fiat. Rule #1: No one may be appointed to be a judge, or to run for election as one, who has ever been a lawyer.

Nope - big government liberal. Santorum would be an improvement on Mitt but he has supported government intrusion into our private lives and supports the "progressive tax" system. None of the current field are perfect but many good candidates stayed away from trying to beat an incumbent. I also don't believe anybody's propaganda, especially coming from Ron Paul, who would have us defeated as a country before his fiscal policies could take hold.

He can't even bring his own state, where he got trounced as an INCUMBENT!
The GOP establishment doesn't seem to realize that conservatives have honor. Sure, some of us will hold our noses and vote for Obama-lite just to get rid of the real thing and hope for the best but many will just stay home, as has happened when we lost the House and the Presidency. Liberals/Democrats/Marxists (they are all the same) have no honor, they will still show up and vote no matter what their candidate has said or done because they know that their people will act and speak whatever they think will sway some "independents" to their side, no matter how disingenuous and they know the LSM will side with them..
