Vision to America : Showdown Between Texas and the Obama Administration

Under the first Texas Constitution, Texas maintained the rights of secession. When the state reentered the Union after the Civil War, that provision was eliminated. Texas does NOT possess the state's right to secede. It is a fun old wive's tale, but false, non the less. Also, the state had the option, at the point it entered the U.S. (1845) to break into five separate states. The citizens of Texas soundly rejected that, and it entered the Union as one state, giving part of its panhandle to Oklahoma to remain under the 36th parallel so that it could enter as a slave holding state. You would think that if someone is going to make a claim about Texas, and our history, they would at least bother to fact check their claims.

Let's not forget that Robert Creamer, the Congresswoman's husband, is a convicted felon who seems to enjoy invites to the White House. Just one more criminal that Obama likes to surround himself with. Creamer wrote his book (the Dem playbook) from jail.

Big Government : Arizona House Speaker to 'Put Some Light on Fast and Furious'

Last night I was watching a segment of the "Border Wars" program. A BP was explaining to the interview how they went to the places where they know illegals are waiting to cross over into the U.S. There were videos of illegals sitting on the ground, waiting for the cayotes to pick them up for transport to el Norte. The BP agent then went on to explain that they had to try to talk the illegals from crossing over and warned them about the dangers (this was in Arizona) of the desert. Then I about fell out of my chair. The BP agent said that if the illegals told them that they were going to try anyway, the BP are then required to tell the illegals how to prepare themselves for the desert, and what to take with them, so they would be safe. WTF? We are telling illegals how to stay safe as they break into our nation?

Ummm, where did I say you were a Romney fan or that he was what you wanted for this country? Or do you have the capacity to read what isn't written? Now here is the bottom line: men like Romney are NOT men of conviction. He sold his own [claimed] conservative convictions out when he agreed to sign a bill that was not what he wanted in order to appease his opposition and to gain anything, something, that he could hang his hat on. To this day, he continues to support Romneycare. Please show me where he has EVER said that he was forced into the legislation as enacted. Because you can't. And "the Devil made me do it" doesn't quite cut it. There is an old adage that describes principled men: I would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

So basically what you are saying is that Romney can be coerced and intimidated into rejecting conservative values by mere threats from the opposition? Hardly a point in his favor. Hardly makes him a Governor Walker, who has thwarted his opponents every step of the way, does it? What you have basically done is prove that Romney is not a man of principal, he is a man of expedency. Is that what you want? Someone who will cave under heavy fire from the Democrats? If that is the mindset of the nation, then you might as well kiss this republic known as the United States of America goodby. Here is the bottom line: Romney wanted Romney care, at all costs, so it could be his signature acheivement in Massachusetts. He sold out his [supposedly] conservative values to get it. He could have advised the populace of the impending costs to the state, and its citizens. He could have denied the individual mandate as unconstitutional. He did none of those things, instead, smiling at Ted Kennedy as he signed that disasterous bill. Now his state is paying the financial cost for his spineless actions.

Why would Romney repeal the very program that he, and his cohorts, designed? Or have you forgotten when Romney was saying he would issue exemptions to all 50 states, but quickly changed his tune to "repealing Obamacare" when it was pointed out that some states, like Massachusetts and California, would not want exemptions. No Romney. Romney will only be SSDD.

compare that to Texas during the same time frame: 1/03 unemployment 6.6% 1/07 unemployment 4.5% for a 2.1% reduction Add to that, a 512,709 increase in the labor force and a 727,705 increase in employment with a decrease of the unemployed of 184,994. Under Rick Perry, Texas added more jobs than accounts for the increase in workforce. Romney can't hold a candle to Perry and he knows it. Why didn't he say that he had created more jobs while governor that Obama has as president to Rick Perry? Because he knows he is a liar, that's why.

Now, considering the rules changed midstream, and Bill Bolling is Romney's Va Campaign manager, as well as a member of the VA GOP who sets the rules, perhaps the question you should be asking is "Since Bolling was the one to turn in Romney's signatures and petitions, was he aware of the number of signatures Romney had prior to the ruling?" No, I don't have an anger management problem.
Big Government : Virginia's GOP Isn't for Lovers of Newt or Perry

All this started over a law suit filed by one Michael Osborne, an independent state (VA) delegate candidate who filed against the GOP of Virginia on October 24th over the rules of how petitions are verified, and by whom. The Virginia GOP responded to the law suit (which has not even gone to court yet) by changing the benchmark of 10,000 signatures to 15,000 or more in order to not have them verified. The benchmark of 15,000 was just decided on last month, in the middle of the campaign season in Virginia. Now, perhaps you think that those changes were within the perimeter of the authority of the Va GOP, and that is questionable. But to change the rules, in midstream, show incompetence on the part of the VA GOP, not the candidates. All that has ever been required by the candidates, prior to 2012 campaign season (as in 2000, 2004 and 2008) , was simply the 10,000 signature rule and the signatures were NOT verified. So if a candidate obtained the rules of submitting signatures prior to the November change, the question you should be asking is "Did the Va GOP inform the candidates of the change?"

dustrider1, are you just a simpleton? Gingrich and Perry did NOT miss the filing deadlines. They met them. It was after they submitted their petition signatures that the Va GOP disallowed approximately one in six of every one of those signatures. Romney did NOT have his signatures validated since he reached the magically number of 15,000, arbitrarily changed at the last minute (last month). Not withstanding that the Va GOP seemed to have pulled some shenanigans to get only two candidates on the ballot (changing the delegate assignment from proportional to winner-take-all) it is the voters of Virginia that lose out by having their choice deluted. If that doesn't bother you, then you should rethink your understanding of the Constitution.
