We should support min wages as a mean to improve earning of local workers.
Neither RM900 or RM1,200 is good enough for us especially for those living in/ near to big city like KL. As long as we are in the lower level of " job category"

Extending this to foreign worker is really arguable.

Will this really motivate the employer to shift back to local worker ? Will the youngster motivated to work as operator / factory now at RM900 ? Equalize themselves to foreigner ?
Are there more than merely one reasons of youngster not applying in "lower level" jobs ?

For sure the existing local worker will benefit, probably among the medium to older age group.

Foreign worker become the winner "durian fall from the sky" - thanks to our ministry and govt.
Malaysian employer get the hit directly especially for those employ many foreign worker. Yet they still face the difficulty to get local labor.
MNC will start counting their cost increase, considering the easiest and fastest way to move out from Malaysia.

Foreign worker outsourcing company or such labour supply company has since this announcement together with the 6P exercise, increase the rate and market around to supply to the highest bidder. The reality is that such increase will not attract much our local worker into industry such as manufacturing, especially area like Shah Alam. Employers continue to face difficulty recruiting local worker, reliance on foreign worker continues as it is but at 80% (500 to 900) higher rate. MNC continues to rate Malaysia as the highest labour rate country in the region. VSS and restructuring continues, pulling out is just a matter of time of business decision. Automation is ideal but not over night. Transferring out product lines to other lower labour rate country is the fastest , more feasible and promising strategy.
