Is good even possible without God? Kelly talks about "...freedom from the constraint of agreed upon norms..." This so called "freedom" has been achieved and is the result of the Gramscian nihilistic assault on our "agreed upon norms" that found a foothold in the 60's and continues to this day. It has only given us chaos, confusion and lostness. Getting right with God, individually, is our way out of this mess. I pray this is something the majority of the country can recognize.

I was very pleased to hear those words come out of the Speaker's mouth, along with his 3rd point which is to begin dismantling and pushing many of the federal programs down to the local communities and engage churches, charities, NGOs, etc. I would like to see a national movement of this nature. It will be an enormous job and it will probably be difficult and time consuming to earn the trust of those in the community, but it needs to be done. The other difficult part of that effort will be political. As David Horowitz has commented many times, the Left controls many of the inner cities and has their boot heals on the necks of the kids in those neighborhoods. Do you know if Speaker Gingrich has a plan of attack? I think the time is right to implement it.

You are correct, our public schools, churches, cultural moral character and the family itself have suffered greatly from this Gramscian attack on the institutions of our society.....much of the assault being done under the guise of tolerance. We clearly need to make significant and immediate political changes in November to stop (and hopefully reverse) the damaging public policy being implemented, but the only way to fix things over the long run is to restore Judeo Christian values to our culture and our families. Sadly, I do not think many of our churches are up to the challenge....We The People are going to have to get engaged and make the change.

I take it that you evaded the stalker...bet that was scary. There are certainly some kooks out there....many so called Christians even frighten me. I am also very concerned about where we are and our future....those who I previously disregarded as the nuts on the fringes seem to now be in charge...I will be careful about disregarding them in the future. I have not followed things in Aus closely, but from what I have heard it is worse there than it is here. I feel your frustration and agree...it seems we are sleep walking to our own destruction. I think that postmodern / relativism period in the 90s created mass confusion.....even the church is misguided today! The absolutes that were societies foundation have been obliterated in many of our minds and the church just sits there and watches, even conforms to society in many cases...most are nothing more than a feel-good therapy session. The truth I find written in the Bible is screaming out today....particularly in the area of lies and deception. One good thing about the current state of affairs is that it forces us to stop and examine ourselves, re-evaluate and study/confirm what it is we believe and reset our priorities. This can ultimately lead to rebuilding the absolutes for societies foundation....I just hope we have not waited to long. Be patient with those Christians emerging from their bubble. Some will have to get comfortable with the idea that you are not going to transmutate into Satan himself before their very eyes. ;-) Oh, and thanks for the book recommendations!...and I will check out that alternet link.
