Robert may be a kid who has never had a chance due to lack of parental supervision, but he knew what he was doing was wrong or he wouldn't have run away. Please remember we are all accountable for the decisions we make-good or bad. Robert's involvement in this crime is unfortunate and heartbreaking, but no more sad and heartbreaking than what Officer Davis and the nine year-old has had to endure. All kids make errors in judgment at one time or another, but not of such magnitude. When I look at this boy's face, I feel sad for the lack of parenting he has received but know he has to face hard consequences for the rash of bad choices he has made. Why would I have had flood insurance? Two of the three homes sustained major damage from the flood, while the other narrowly escaped any damage. I now have loans to pay back to the SBA for the next 23 years and it took 6 mos. to get the funds. However, I used personal finances to fix the houses up so I could get tenants back in within 4months-both who lost everything in the floods themselves. I have gotten nothing for free-not even cookies...and I did not raise the rent to help cover my losses. Think before you speak please. There have been many victims in this ordeal.
