How is this just not another way to legislate feeling? You want more government to save you from evil? You have made these people the modern demon, the modern witch, the modern anathema - does fill you with rightousness, or do you love to live your hate vicariously through corrupt beaurocrats? The world isn't a safe place, never has, never will! People are more concerned about 'sex offenders' than they are terrorists...amazing! Justice is ideally about proportionality, and what is proportional about this, or registry, for that matter? Tell you what, fork over your entire paycheck with a smile in order to save the the world from malice, and I'll truly accept your self-righteous indignation. At that point, it will be clear that you've elected safety over liberty. Who will be able to harm you when everyone is in a cage? And don't tell me that they could do something in the future - when did we become like 'Minority Report'. Apply that to your own life: if you lie to your significant other, and they know, prove to them that you won't potentially lie in the future? Or if you make a mistake at work, go ahead and try to prove to your boss that you won't screw up in the future...

I guess if you want to see the world as victims and victimizers, that's your call, but don't think that feeling your way to creating new Draconian laws doesn't have consequences for you.
