MetsBlog.com : Pepsi Refresh Pre-Game: Mets vs. Brewers - Game Two

And Perez deals. Fast ball hit in the air to left field, thats deep. Back goes Chavez. Back near the wall...LEAPING...anddd....HE MADE THE CATCH!!! HE TOOK A HOME RUN AWAY FROM ROLEN! Trying to get back to first Edmonds, hes doubled off and the inning is over! Endy Chavez saves the day! He reached high over the left field wall, right in front of the mets visitors bullpen, and pulls back a two run homer! He went to the apex of his leap, and caught it in the webbing of his glove, with his elbow up above the fence. A miraculous play by Endy Chavez. And then Edmonds is doubled off first, and Oliver Perez escapes the 6th inning. The play of the year, the play maybe of the franchise history! LETS GO METS!

MetsBlog.com : Read: Players are Adjusting to Citi Field

I dont get how people are criticizing Citi Field so much. The field is pretty amazing. I was hooked from the first second I stepped in the place, and wish I was going to every game. I was at the opener, I felt it could have been a little louder at times, but people were walking around and exploring the ballpark. I absolutely love the new home...people that are complaining that they cant see 15 square feet of the warning track need to seriously get a hobby. And people who say that when they look at the field, nothing reminds them of the Mets and they could have done things differently. What did they want them to do? Make it 86 feet between each base? Paint the grass orange and blue? Give me a break. I have no complaints about the field, hopefully it will be the home of many championships over the years.

going home 4-2 is a big deal...at least to me it is...i want to win as many games early so theres not as much pressure late - in 06 we started 10-2 in the first 12...if we can go 8-4 id be thrilled

matt...i love the blog and continue to come here multiple times a day...but dont make up a time of 11:59 because i was here at 3 am and it wasnt up -- otherwise great all around win for the mets -- it was one of those that we lose last year right before a santana start that made his start a must win.

lets take tomorrow and come home 4-2 ... im so pumped for the game tomorrow lets go into it on a high note -- hey if we cant get the job done in september lets not put ourselves in that position by winning a lot of games early - we could very well be 5-0

gipper dont always go by and trust what you read everywhere... i have never heard anyone refer to sheff as an "its all about me" player - he wants to play and he stands up for his teammates, and most importantly he was to win - i feel like if there were a brawl he would be the guy jumping over our guys to get to the other team .. the only thing i am worried about is the playing time - i love church and murphy..we will just have to wait and see...
