Breitbart.com : Commencement festivities begin at Notre Dame

By this logic, the pope should also resign for having awarded the 'St. John Lateran' honorary canon award to French President Sarkozy (a twice-divorced Catholic who also supports abortion).

Angry Catholics who think that a Catholic institution cannot honor someone like Obama, I suppose, must also direct their anger at the Vatican. In 2007, the Vatican honored French President Nicholas Sarkozy by giving him the title of "honorary canon of the Basilica of St. John Lateran," even though Sarkozy is twice-divorced and supports abortion as a matter of public policy. What Notre Dame is doing with Obama is no different than what the Vatican did with Sarkozy (except for the fact that Obama has been a faithful husband, while Sarkozy has not). Catholics who are angry with Notre Dame are obviously motivated by their right-wing politics, and not by their religion.
