i gotta say i echo Ipadfun's enthusiasm. every time i come to this site, especially for ipad related audio stuff, i invariably end up buying something from the app store. i dont know if i should be thanking you or cursing you! synthtopia rocks.

EUREKA! figured out the problem here. Tip: Make sure you arent running any kind of drive integrity/checking software such a Drive Genius. This is what was causing pwnage tool to fail in the "detaching root filesystem" error. Disable drive genius and voila! Custom IPSW! woot!

so finally was able to get around this by downgrading to official 4.1 IPSW, then using old redsn0w to install 6.15 BB, then was able to make custom IPSW with the 4.1.3 unlock edition pwnage tool. so now my phone's up and running on 4.1...
trying again to get the current 4.3.1 and im back to the annoying error i constantly get with most pwnage tools, which is this (you can substitute any firmware for the error here, this happens for me probably 90% of the time when generating custom IPSWs:

2011-04-10 12:45:08 - Detaching root filesystem from '/Volumes/Durango8G4.N88OS'.
2011-04-10 12:45:08 - FAIL

just a heads up, i tried this on windows with 096rc12 and the exact same thing happened, redsnow crashes during the "fetching ipad baseband files" step....

is anyone having problems running RedSnow? Ive tried 096rc9 and 096rc12 and it keeps crashing when it tries to fetch the iPad baseband files (im on a 3gs trying to flash to 6.15 ipad baseband) im on OSX 10.6.7, repaired permissions, re-downloaded redsnow couple of times)

any help is appreciated?

hey guys how about posting it in the info that this is for intel only, and save us toothless rube hillbillies who still use PPC macs some time and trouble and frustration when PwnageTool crashes over and over?
