20s Money : Possible Future Gold Standard

Foreign nations might indeed ask a revaluation of currencies taking gold as a reference point. Having gold is a safety net for anybody and I am considering investing in gold. But I have no idea what's better, investing into ETFs or physical gold ETFs can be you traded like funds or stocks. Their pros would be a fast trading and low premium over the actual gold value. But you must pay attention at the quality of the management and the fees. For the physical gold: you pay a premium (usually $50-70 over spot with 1 ounce coins). But when you sell it, you also get the premium back (partly) Pros: You hold the physical and you know it's 100% there, in any type of meltdown. Government doesn't need to know you have them or you sold them (purchases under $10,000 or sales up to 25 ounces don't have to be reported) and you could consider capital gains tax. If you buy from BBB A rated dealers you can be sure it's genuine. Drawbacks: you need a safe place (safe at home or safe deposit $100-300/year), shipping cost when buying online ($30-50). If you believe there may be a serious market crash (exchanges may be down and ETFs not tradeable), this is the better option.

MoneySense : Escape the debt trap

Let´s hope that we won´t never come to the situation in which a debt collector sends a final notice of obligation¨: http://www.financialcrisisnet.org/forum/Credit/Wh... It basically means that it's your final chance to pay on your own. if you don´t manage to do that, if you had a federal loan, it could mean that they will start the process to start garnishing your wages. the IRS will contact your employer (who legally has to comply) and they can take up to 25% of your monthly earnings. The minimum we can do is contact the collection agency and set up a payment plan.

She's a great woman, who sees herself as part aid worker, part political operator, part cultural translator. "I'm experienced in working in different cultures. The most alien culture I've ever worked in is the U.S. military," she said, with characteristic candour. "I was used to working in the humanitarian space, the diplomatic space. I came to Iraq and that space, the military, is all over it." One senior foreign diplomat said that the very presence of a civilian political adviser at the right hand of a senior American military commander was a sign of the extent to which military strategy now strives to take into account the political and cultural landscape of conflict.

The total U.S. mobile-ad market generated $877 million in 2010, IDC estimates. Google, the market leader, solidified its standing last year, when it bought mobile advertising network AdMob for about $700 million. Apple, which ranks second, made its own inroads by purchasing the Quattro Wireless ad network for an undisclosed sum in 2010. Quite a sum of money, isn't it? These people advertising there try to do their best to lower sales' cost , using ads to replace sales' staff.

The Couch Potato strategy is a technique for building a diversified, low-maintenance portfolio designed to deliver the same returns as the overall stock and bond markets, minus very small fees. The strategy can reduce a typical investor’s costs by as much as 90%, while at the same time beating the vast majority of managed accounts The strategy — also called index investing, or passive investing — has been around for decades, though it has become far more popular in recent years, as new products and online discount brokerages have made it easier to implement. Anyone can now build and maintain their own investment portfolio using index mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

20s Money : Why Is Deflation Bad? Let's Challenge The Commonly Held View Regarding Deflation/Inflation

I am a poor person on a fixed income, so deflation would help me. If I were rich and owned stocks, had lots of money earning interest or earned a large company then deflation would harm me. If I owned a business my wages would stay the same and what I could sell my widgets for would be less. Interest rates would go down, the stock market would go down... Deflation hurts only the rich. credit score

What they are doing in Arizona is what should be done in all states. It's FEDERAL LAW that a person not born in this country is REQUIRED to carry proper papers that state he/she is to be in this country. There is no racial profiling in this, they can't just stop a mex they have to have cause, such traffic violation which most will be busted for DUI. What they should do is seize the assetts these illegals have and send them back over the border naked like they came. If you're caught selling cocaine and have 2million in cash, boat, house they take it from you, you don't get to keep it. They complain about funding, well if you get $10,000 from 100 illegals imagine what you can get from 2million, 5million, 10million. There's your funding.
