It is bad enough that he is losing his home and it appears that this is family land since it is on Ritchie road. I think officers need to be sensitive to these matters. It seems that the officers were way over involved in this and should have let who ever it concerned file more papers. These are hard times and people who are losing everything may do something stupid that they wouldn't normally do. Why push a man to his limit. I know this isn't the way most Rowan Sheriffs officers operate. I just hope this law suit will open up the department for more training for times like these (foreclosures). Rowan County Sheriffs (rsd) dept and court system has some major issues. Firstly, I have seen a rsd officers mistreat a neighbor. The attitude he had was very disturbing. The people who were violated were then abused by the officer. My personal view of it was the officer was either too afraid to properly address this situation or that they were too lazy to do what was right. Secondly, I have had to go to court over an accident and the officers at the entrance of the courthouse were so rude and unprofessional. I think we should hold the office of law enforcement UP to a standard that the average person could not do. They should uphold the law to the nth degree whether someone is right or wrong, they are to uphold the law and enforce the law. I really think the SBI should watch this department closely. Their attitudes and the way they act on them is not lawful.
