Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 3/25/09 - 3/28/09

I am tired of people and leaders making decisions for purely economic reasons. There are things that are more important than money and financial security. Money and greed got us into this mess and I fear that we are trying to use the same tools to get us out. Decisions made in times of crisis have far reaching effects.

How young are you? I'm 28 and I have a bunch of siblings and in-laws that are younger than me and we all fully subscribe to the ideals of previous generations. I would like to know more about why you think redistributing wealth to care for all Americans is the right path forward.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : YOU HAVE RUN OUT OF OUR MONEY

I think Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), at least ideologically would agree with Mr. Hannan. I think one of the only problems, is that we don't have a session where the president goes in front of congress to take questions. Who ever does would probably have to call a press conference, and even then they would probably be subdued by the media. Also, I am not sure that there is a format here where one can confront the president as an adversary. Until the next election cycle, he is pretty isolated from the real world. Look at Bush, after he won the second election, it pretty much appeared that he didn't care a lick about what was being said about him. Also what good does it do to confront Mr. Obama, he is just a charismatic puppet who follows what his advisors tell him to do.

I want a judiciary firmly committed to developing natural law that abhors the tenets of legal positivism.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : If you've read the 5000 Year Leap then you know ...

This was great. My children (ages 3 and 4) watched it over and over. Afterwards they got into a little argument over which government they liked more. My son liked the Oligarchy and my daughter liked the republic. Maybe we are in for a little intra-home class warfare in the future.

I want to thank those of you who are organizing events, that is a great service you are providing. One thing that I think we as a people need to do and do it soon, is put aside our "itching ears" and our comforts and find out what is really right. Then act as we are convinced of the truth. I know that I have incorrect ideas as well as wrong ones, as all of us do. However, if we all collaborate and open ourselves up to each other and share our ideas with the sole purpose to show who we are, I think we can discover the truth. Now only if we can develop an adequate means for developing this. This site currently is not the best format for such a discussion.

Presidents, being the puppets of others, are probably facing intense pressure from global forces to "fall in line." Maybe this is why some of the founders warned about entangling alliances. Treaties and such are made by others who don't give a lick about our constitution or possibly even more important the natural law foundation behind the american founding. I think impeaching Obama or any other bum would not fully rectify the situation that we are in. The problem is we have been treating cancer with aspirin for so long now that the only available solution requires drastic measures to rewrite the path the country and world has taken.

The last part of my comment Therefore, I would like to thank Glenn for starting this site. I think that we need to hammer out and rediscover the natural law much like the founders did when they created the constitution. The 9 guiding principles are a good start. But there is a lot of knowledge out there, and to find it we need to be committed to its discovery, willing to change our commitment to a previously held conviction at the discovery of truth. I think it will also require help from everyone of every persuasion. We have the 9 principles and 12 values, now maybe we can work together to find even more out there. Maybe this site could provide the format for finding it.

My comment continued I also think that our task is more challenging than merely restoring our country to the time of the signing of the constitution (as if that weren't challenging enough). One thing about a majority of the founders, is that they were an incredible assortment of renaissance men. They were able to draw from experience in a wide array of fields of study. Also, the rise of positivism parallels the rise of technology. Thus, as people learned more about different subjects they became more specialized. For example, people are far better at engineering, but the engineers don't understand and greatly disdain the social sciences. Also, those involved in the humanities often find science and math unreachable. Those who are capable of cross-pollinating the different studies usually find themselves in certain niches that isolate them from the community, like patent law, technical writing, and heaven forbid management. The result of this has been an ever increasingly narrow view of life, and hence a muddling of the picture of natural law.

I do feel that the country has gone astray, and I think what partly is to blame is that our leaders have unhitched themselves from the idea of natural law for quite some time. I know that the late nineteenth and early twentieth century saw the rise of legal positivism or rule by the customs of the land. I think this unhitching is responsible for a lot of the problems of today. When we are not hitched to any guiding principles we are just floating around like a leaf on water.

I agree, the comment format on this site does need to go to a forum format. It needs to be divided into subjects where we can really hammer out tough issues of the day. The monster monolithic threads just discourages people from commenting.
