I budget every month, make smart decisions and also receive food assistance. However, I do NOT buy junk food, I budget my meals to last, and keep my children healthy. I believe SNAP should deny the use of food stamps for purchasing soda products, candy, and other wasteful fatty snacks. I don't believe they should govern how we eat entirely as people have the right to decide what goes on the dinner table, due to religion, dietary limitations etc. However working in a grocery establishment I see T-bone steaks, shrimp, lobster going through the line. That is ridiculous. Maybe if you are on SNAP there should be a mandatory nutrition class for participants. And a need to follow guidelines. Just my two cents.
