AatRB : Good old tolerant Jesus, eh?

I think that's somewhat common in Catholicism. I was raised Catholic, and when I was growing up and came across questions about things against Catholic doctrine (like birth control and marrying outside the faith) I realize my mother had little "time outs" for certain dogma. Speaking of birth control specifically she'd say, "the Pope doesn't belong in the bedroom". lol

I wondered the same thing, however I recently was listening to a podcast where the person being interviewed mentioned how since Catholics do not have an issue teaching evolution, some people are opting to send kids to Catholic school if living in a conservative area were the information would be glossed over in a public school. I want to see this was Eugenie Scott being interviewed on Skeptically Speaking, but I'm not 100%. That was an education issue though...if I was gay I'd stay as far away from the Catholic church as possible.

AatRB : I wasn't that concerned

I love when they do dramatizations of what the rapture will be like...just saw one on the Nostradamus Effect the other night. People just disappear in a flash of lightening. Why would God need all their clothes? I'd like to think we'd see steaming piles of clothing like the Wicked Witch of the West.

AatRB : The unmistakable evidence for god

Yeah, I think she made a good point at proving Greenleaf's reasoning for becoming a believer, but I don't know how that was relevant to anything spoken about earlier. It didn't apply to endtimes, earthquakes, the FSM, unicorns, or even her own thoughts on God. But glad that we sorted Greenleaf out. I would like to know more about his title "royal professor of Harvard"

Yup, it was finally time :-) Well the husband uses wordpress for his blogs so we decided to expand the account and add AatRB to it as well. So far I'm loving the ease of posting, everything is so much more efficient. And my blog template was originally written for wordpress so it seems to be working much better here.

Attempts at Rational Behavior : Typical pub fare?

The only time I've been "proselytized" in a pub, and this a true story, was when my husband and I accidentally struck up a conversation with a man who was an unauthorized expert on Thomas Jefferson. After 20 minutes of telling us how great Jefferson was, not that I was disagreeing with him at all, my husband asked him what he thought of Sally Hemmings. It then became verbally violent. He denied that Jefferson every had an affair with a slave, and therefore never fathered any of her children. It was interesting. Oh, and footnote here...though I looked up before posting this the more common spelling of "fare" when used in "pub fare" my husband is arguing that I should have spelled it "fayre". I did do my research and saw that more people spell it as "fare" nowadays. But you know these English and their persnickety use of the language they are very proud of inventing ;-)

Attempts at Rational Behavior : If this is all we have...we're screwed

I used to follow him on Twitter and he tweeted once about interviewing Rush Limbaugh. I tweeted back and said something like "good luck, you're much braver than I am" and he actually tweeted me back, saying that he has to give time to both sides. I got his point, but just being a microphone for bigotry to speak into isn't really good reporting. There was another clip recently I saw of one of the women, Kyra I think, interviewing Shaun White after he won his medals. He was explaining a move he does in the half-pipe that he calls the "tomahawk" because of the way he flips backwards then frontwards. She said that it made sense since the tomahawk missile basically started the Iraq war....wtf? 1) has she never heard of the native american hatchet tool, and 2) a missile began that war?
