This is a terrible idea. We are not being served by the corporate media we have. Why would we defund our one decent news alternative? Corporate media has too much power. They've lobbied for and recieved huge tax breaks and concessions for themselves and their owners far in excess of what this endoment covers.

The Washington post article proves nothing. People of the middle east have long wanted to get out from under the rule of dictators. While they've loved and envied our democracy and freedom they've resented the fact that they've hard to live under the rule of oppressive governments often supported by our government.

The protstors are Christian, Muslim, nonreligious, and otherwise. These are human beings fighting for their freedom. They deserve our support and respect.
