Big Hollywood : In Memoriam: Andrew Breitbart (1969-2012)

In complete shock, short of a massive heart attack or stroke, there are no natural causes that one would die of at the young age of 43. Very sad, he had the wit, humor, and youth that had been missing from conservatism over the last 20 years. It was only with people such as he, Coulter, Miller, that conservatism was expanded in the media beyond religious types and Limbaugh. Condolences go out to his wife, children, and father-in-law, as well as parents.

they did. I have a black coworker who said that everyone in the black community has tried an intervention at one time or another, especially when she was at the bottom from Quincy Jones on down. There is only so much people can do, everyone has free will.

I'm sorry I missed it if only for the Whitney Houston tributes. So sad, so many people tried to help her, but drugs were her demons. I glad someone who could actually sing won (Adele). There aren't many people who had the voice and knowing how to sing a song expressively. So many of the imitators (Christina Aguilere, Celine Dion), really don't have that quality. Paul McCartney's new album ( Kisses on the Bottom) is great--I usually hate when artists try to go old school because most of them either end up trying to imitate Frank Sinatra, or just warble the words. He sounds great, and wrote a couple of songs for the album, which are some of the best wrting he's done in years. Also, love that he picked little known or played songs that haven't been done to death. Also love that he picked "Inchworm"--probably as a shoutout to his young daughter. My 7 year old daughter loves that song. Springsteen had jumped the shark years ago--what's with that socialist tune?

Love the imagery of that comparison! Also, was there ever a better annoying woman that her employer at the beginning of the film (Florence Bates)? She was also annoying in "Letter to 3 Wives"

Hitchcock deliberatley made Fontaine feel uncomfortable/unwanted during the filming to heighten the tension. Also, Vivien Leigh had read for the part, but after GWTW, Selznick told her she was all wrong for it. Olivier wasn't happy that he was working with Fontaine instead of Leigh, and he would say cruel things to her. She got married to Brian Aherne (British actor) during the filming, and Olivier said "Couldn't you do any better than that?" I don't remember where I read this, either a bio of Hitchcock or Olivier.

As a former female Navy linguist, I was surprised by many aspects of the whole debacle: 1) Why did Matthews (the base chief) bake a cake? Muslims don't celebrate birthdays in the ways that we do, many of them think of it as another year closer to death. When I was stationed in Japan and Turkey at the minimum we had some kind of one day cultural class. I thought CIA agents had to at least passably speak some of the local dialect and/or be extremely knowledgeable in the local customs for an assignment like that. 2) Having everyone lining up to greet Balawi seemed also very stupid, Also couldn't believe it when Matthews was backed up by higher-ups after some resistance from LeBonte and after he had pleaded his case not to have everyone line up. 3) Bad move to have a female base chief in such an anti-female country and culture. It doesn't help our case. Instead, use the females to waterboard the terroists--would be very humilating for them!

Big Hollywood : Trailer Talk: HBO's 'Game Change' Pummels Palin with Liberal Talking Points

Don't have either Starz or Netflix, but am planning to watch it when it comes out on DVD. Was Starz the only channel that would take this show? If so, it's hard to believe. All that's out there now are crusading lawyer shows. The only shows I've watched consistently for the last 5 years were Lost, and Mad Men.

Big Hollywood : Why Masculinity Matters: 59-Year-Old Liam Neeson Is Action's Most Bankable Star

To be fair, I understand what he meant when he said ithe call to prayer was beautiful. I was stationed in Turkey for a year while in the Navy, and it is a completely different world, feels like you almost stepped onto a movie set. Very old world, but not intimidating. However, it is a lot more modern than other Islamic countries. He probably would feel differently if he went to Saudi Arabia. Also, as an American actor, there would be a lot of interest in him, and most of the people were friendly. As a blonde woman, I was practically mobbed at times in a few of the smaller cities where it was unusual to see blondes and wouldn't travel anywhere without an American male. I'll never forget when I went to a town in Eastern Turkey right after Sadaam invaded Kuwait, and a lot of the TUrks were fearful, Everyone was so happy that George H W Bush was president, they knew that somehting was gonna be one. I thought the call to prayer was kind of cool, until I heard it 5x a day for a year.

Big Hollywood : What Shoulda Won? 2000 Best Picture Academy Award

The strange coincidence Election and Deuce Bigalow were my 2 favorite movies of the year. Rob Schneider was actually pretty sweet in the film. I went to see it with my ex who has both a prosthetic leg and is Filipino and he loved it as well. I think I was pregnant at the time, and I was convinced our first child, if a boy, would like like Rob (half Filipino/half white).

Big Hollywood : Heigl's Career Still Reeling from Foot in Mouth Disease

The problem is is that she trashes everything she's in--makes snide remarks about her character's storyline not being "emmy worthy" is basically just trashing the show writer. I didn't care for "Knocked Up", her character gets knocked up by some pot smoking guy who doesn't seem to work much, the movie didn't ring true-but she saw the script. She was lucky to get the part. It's kind of stupid on her part that she bites the hand that feeds her so much considering she has been around for years--was in "My Father the Hero" with Gerard Depradieu back in the 90s.

Breitbart.tv : Debate Moderator Focuses On Seven-Year-Old Terri Schiavo Case

I think the real issue was that they were going through some type of marital problems, he was having an affair, and the amount of time it took him to call 911 was also brought under fire. Also, he was the only one that had heard her supposedly say that she didn't want to be kept alive if something like this had happened. Ron Paul was right on this issue at least--living will, power of attorney would have solved everything.

Haven't found many funny comics nowadays--male or female. However, watch some Joan Rivers stand ups--very funny. Don't think any of the successful men on TV are funny at all--Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon is horrible, Letterman and Leno used to be funny 20 yrs ago, not anymore. If you watch the late-night shows, people clap more than they laugh--no one ever did that with Carson.

Loved Michelle Williams speech--very heartfelt, very succinct, no list of everyone on the planet she has to thank. It brought tears to my eyes when she was speaking of her daughter, and I am not a crier. I wish Brad Pitt would have won for Moneyball. I'm not into watching sports, but as it was pointed out to me before I went to see it, it is really not a sports film. It was a great film, and Pitt's performance was understated excellence. It seems one can't win an award unless there is a lot of over the top emoting.

Honestly, some of you posters are as bad as the liberal ones on left-wing site--if you didn't watch it or didn't see any of the movies, your comments are hardly helpful--why bother posting? I DVR'd it, was at work til 11 pm. I love being able to watch the whole show in an hour! Agree with comments regarding Streep--I've never seen her give a coherent or non-insulting acceptance speech. What was with her calling Octavia Spencer out with --"you're my girl"--seems to be somewhat patronizing. Did'nt catch any anti-Republican, pro-Obama speeches like I usually see on these award shows, maybe I just missed them.
