I'm with you Nick. I know some folks who know Maher and all consider him and a#(. However, I too chuckled at this one.

Big Government : 'The People's Seat' May Be in Jeopardy, and What We Can Learn From It

John G is probalby correct. As a California conservative, I use my donations for other state's races (my state is a lost cause). I gave money to Scott Brown last time, but wil not again. I had hoped he would fight for those who helped him get elected, but not surprisingly, he stood by his natural borne positions. I certainly which him luck against the communist Warren, but will not financially support him this round.

Big Government : BREAKING: Herman Cain Now Leads GOP Field Among Primary Voters, Says New Zogby Poll

I hear you on the gripe. I don't normally comment on such (by the way, the same types of comments appear on Huffington, etc., so it seems persons of all political backgrounds like to gripe about other's mistakes), but since the same error was made twice, and because I was somewhat in a smarta@@ mood... (I also confess that I'm a horrible speller for someone with a post-college degree.) I'm certainly not a birther and suspect that Obama's produced birth certificate is real; however, he could have produced it years ago and avoided much of this. Sure, not all Fed Chairmen should run for President. But you cannot deny that Cain has more relevant experience than Obama--well I guess you can, but anyone who knows both of their backgrounds would likely agree that Cain is more qualified. Further, its my opinion that Cain's lack of holding a prior office is a plus. I'm sick of both Democrats and Republican career politicians, as they do not care about the everyday person for the most part. I was born a Santa Cruz, CA liberal Democrat and I've seen how career progressive politicians have destroyed my beloved California.

cdub--I don't normally comment with negatives towards others, especially because we all make typographical errors, but I think you used "loose" when you meant "lose." For that matter, I think you meant to refer to us conservatives as "losers" not "loosers." As an ignorant Tea Party person myself [sarc], I'm glad I could correct your spelling issues. Also, Mr. Cain is much more than talking points. He has headed up large, successful businesses, and clearly his work at the Fed shows he has the financial background to understand and run the government (something President Obama cannot claim for himself). There's no reason to hate on Cain or his supporters, just because he doesn't fit with the Progressive theme and talking points.

Big Government : Showdown: DOJ Clears Path for Supreme Court to Decide Whether ObamaCare Is Constitutional

Interesting...I would think the Dems would delay, hoping that Kennedy retires and they appoint a new Justice and switch the majority. It's scary thinking that 4 of 9 of our Supreme Court Justices are expected to find a way to justify a law that is patently unconstitutional.

Big Government : Diary from the Days of Madness

I am (again) very embarrassed for my Californnia. The replacement babysitter every 2 hours is ridiculous. You'd have to line up 2 babysitters just to get dinner and movie with your spouse. I wonder if the babysitter's boyfriend (or friends) that show up after the adults leave counts towards a second person to provide the babysitter with a break? Not to mention, once the kids go to sleep at 8, does the babysitter really need a break from watching TV, texting, talking to friends on the phone (and likely going through all of my drawers, etc.)?

I enjoyed that bus interview, but wish they would have pulled down the window shades--the bus movement had me a little dizzy, and it looked like Greta was not too comfortable. Palin's bus trip was even reported on Free Speech TV (a crazy site for Progressives I accidently found last night on Direct TV--of note, that station seems to support Glen Beck's proposition that leftists fully support and are helping the various "revolutions" in middle eastern countries--the station showed much of the same news clips as does Beck, clips you would never see on the MSN because they are overtly anti-American and anti-capitalism. I could not believe how anti Israel that FSTV was--but they have a right to say what they want, just as does Fox and the Big Sites).

Big Government : REVEALED: California Teachers Association Union Planning Takeover of State Capitol Building Next Mon

I shop CA non-union markets, etc. The problem is that most of the CA union members are teachers and government employees who create nothing to which we can boycott. Of note, most of my family are CA teachers. They have no idea about the radical nature of their union and think I'm crazy with each link I send them that exposes the truth. My late father was active in the teachers union and used to complain to me every day that he cannot get the union to focus on the students. He was disgusted and retired early.

I enjoyed the employee trying to hold back his laughter in their faces. I also doubt that any one of those protestors would be accepted in any middle eastern country other than Israel--shows that besides being somewhat crazy, they are living in denial of the real world.
Big Government : Why Is a Government-Run Healthcare Lover a 2012 GOP Frontrunner?

As an independent, I will NOT vote for Romney. I wasted my 2008 vote on McCain, and that vote would have been better gifted to a third-party. I'm voting conservative in 2012 whether the Republicans offer a conservative candidate or not. Although someone like Romney (or Romney himself) might slow down the Obama mess, such a RINO candidate will eventually spend US to death with the inflated federal government. I hope the Repubican Party gets it--I'm not sure it does.

Big Government : TSA to Investigate American Citizen Who Refused Body Scan

I actually meant "allow" only because it is, and has been, my understanding that once you get past the ID check, that you have to go through the rest of the screening. The purported purpose is so that any would be terrorist could not exit if, by chance, he was selected for the more onerous screening process (i.e. full scan or seach, as compared to walking through the metal detector). It may not be fair, and is certainly not respectful of liberty, but on a security level makes some sense. I certainly don't have the best answer, but believe that a better system can be used (i.e. profiling [sorry, but it makes sense], the possibility of a quick line for citizens that undergo an extensive background check and are pre-cleared, and I'm sure there are a lot of better ideas). It's a tough issue, and unfortunately, the new screening procedure was not announced to the public, and the reasons for it, with no new threats that I'm aware of, makes me question it.
