Further, its my opinion that Cain's lack of holding a prior office is a plus. The purported purpose is so that any would be terrorist could not exit if, by chance, he was selected for the more onerous screening process (i.e. full scan or seach, as compared to walking through the metal detector). It may not be fair, and is certainly not respectful of liberty, but on a security level makes some sense. I certainly don't have the best answer, but believe that a better system can be used (i.e. profiling [sorry, but it makes sense], the possibility of a quick line for citizens that undergo an extensive background check and are pre-cleared, and I'm sure there are a lot of better ideas). It's a tough issue, and unfortunately, the new screening procedure was not announced to the public, and the reasons for it, with no new threats that I'm aware of, makes me question it.
