If the comments of ex-mayor Moore, Hauger and Towner regarding a recent Erie decision concerning the town manager weren't so pathetic, they would be laughable. The historical actions of the troika were earmarked by repeated contradiction of Moore's favorite word "transparency". He is the poster boy for selfish politically motivation and surreptitious manipulation of trustees usually involving Ms. Hauger and Mr. Colon Towner. They collectively ramrodded initiatives with total disregard for transparency and civil demeanor toward other trustees. Isn't it interesting how memories deceive reality? If you don't believe the above, view archived tapes of BOT meetings under the esteemed leadership of Moore and concomitant actions of Towner and Moore. Draw your own conclusions.
While Moore, thankfully was term limited, he continues his attempts to manipulate the actions of BOT under the guise of "peacemaker". He should reserve his energy for his tech position in BVSD. It would be interesting to know how much the taxpayers are paying for his services....................Nice political leverage Mr. Moore!
How sad that Moore, as an elected public official, has managed to hoodwink the good people of Erie during his terms as trustee and mayor. He exemplifies what is pathetic about American politics regardless of level. His current boondoggle is to get Hauger elected mayor and in that case it is almost certain the other person in the collusion mix, Colon Towner, would then be selected as second in command. The legacy of the "transparent one" would live on and on and on.
Ms. Hauger is a carbon copy of our soon to be departed, Mayor Moore. If you want more of the twisted politics of Moore's administration, then vote for Hauger. Please deliver us.
Soon -to-be ex mayor moore is a master of political double talk. Does he really believe the good people of Erie can't see through his rhetoric? His arrogance and out right deceitful behavior will be his legacy. Thanks ex mayor for letting me know who not to vote for....... For the sake of our town's future, I hope all the game playing exemplified by moore is put to rest with his departure.
Rereading some comments caused me to refocus on the point made that the Boyd Group used information supplied by the town administrator without validating the information. If this is accurate, in addition to Moore, Towner and Hauger, it would seem we have a salaried employee involved in the "Big Three" strategy of surreptitious manipulation of information to facilitate a despicable power play.
WOW! Does this group think their arrogance can override the vigilance of thoughtful citizens?
By the way, it would be interesting to determine whether the town has a professionally developed, objective system for evaluating the performance of salaried staff..................Does it Mr. Mayor?
Unprincipled ambition, arrogance and ignorance are destructive qualities in one's pursuit of personal political goals. The apparent self-serving relationships on the board exemplifies the notion that politics makes for strange bed fellows!
It will be interesting to see how longl the constituency tolerates such ruthless behavior of elected officials. Maybe it is time to exercise options afforded by law to correct the situation.......................
In reading the esteemed Mayor's comments, I get the impression that he plans to ram his own agenda down the throats of Erie residents with the assistance of Towner and Hauger (as the Mayor indicated- motion and second to abandon the crosswind runway). Pushing this through in the manner they did violates the notion of transparency and some could conclude a violation of the sunshine law if if all 3 determined action before the act.
How very, very sad!
Are we to understand that the Mayor supports a recreation trail on active airport property? If so, who are the mental giants leading this parade?
