First, the media is slanted and works on the basis of fear. So, If you do some research, you&#039;ll see how this works (i.e. Glassner&rsquo;s &ldquo;Narrative Techniques of Fear Mongering&rdquo;). Second, when someone is attacked by a dog, many assume it is a pit bull; however, it is proven that they often incorrectly identify the dog. Often, pits are confused with boxers, american bulldogs and even rottweilers, believe it or not. Even the media has been caught using photographs of the wrong breed. Third, pit bulls gain a certain reputation (with help from the media), so they get in the hands of the wrong people... and there is nothing like a cruel, irresponsible owner to help turn a dog into a monster. I was once afraid of them because I had never known one and believed the stories I heard. Now I&#039;m an advocate. Oh, and btw, you should do some research and find out what breed is determined to deliver the most bites to humans each year...
