Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Finding out Justin Bieber is a Christian.

I remember finding out about the Challenger explosion, too. The teachers gathered us together and broke the news in very gentle, but solemn voices while crying. Our 6th grade class had sent two class reps from CO to FL to watch the launch, so it was a super-sensitive subject at our school for a long time.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Phoning in dinner on Sunday night.

So... I'm not sure if I understand correctly, but are you saying that frozen pizza is not normally a legitimate dinner? If that's the case, then I've gotta tell ya that I think you're being a little legalistic on that. Freedom in Christ, you know... I don't think I'm twisting Scripture here. :P

OK, seriously, #3 propelled you from "one of my favorite Christian humor bloggers" to "one of my favorite bloggers". That's right, you just passed the Pioneer Woman - congratulations!

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Elbowing someone during a sermon.

Personally, I'd be more prone to yell, "Why are you touching me???" than the make-out rejection. Same result, though.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Prayer Insults

This is more what I would consider a prayer insult, rather than the unintentional, "oops, sorry for rejoicing over God's blessing in front of you." Honestly, while there is certainly much to be said for being compassionate to someone you KNOW is suffering, some people are just hyper-sensitive and determined to be hurt by anything and everything.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : What are you reading? A Short Saturday Question.

The Bride Collector by Ted Dekker, to be followed up by The Boneman's Daughter (also Dekker) and Adam (yet again, Dekker). I'm on a Dekker kick this summer. :P They are all due back to the library this week, so I see a few late nights in my near future. :)

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Trying to find a new church.

I hate church hunting - we always have strange experiences. From the awkward "tongues" incident to the guest preacher who described the place "inside heaven, but outside the presence of God" where some Christians would be surprised to end up, to the church we had to park a block away yet people recognized and greeted us as newcomers before we'd even reached the church property (and we continued to be "welcomed" for almost 15 minutes after the service started - never thought I'd be scared off by a church that was "too friendly" before that, but they kinda creeped me out...). We knew on our first visit to our current church that it was our new home when the pastor, referring to a psalm about praising His name with dancing, jokingly commented, "but we don't do that because we're Baptist." :)

Ew. I still hold that the only acceptable way for a man to mask his receding hairline is to shave his head and embrace baldness by choice. Sexy. Unless you have a round head - then you'll just look like Charlie Brown.
