Even though a lot of it seemed complete nonsense, I really enjoyed this episode a lot. I think the fact that the actor playing Robin brought it just to the edge of smarmy but kept it emotionally real I can't watch Robin Hood stories without either a) breaking out in 'they're men, they're men in tights! Tight tights!' Or b) canceling Christmas :)

Mark Watches : Mark Watches 'Doctor Who': S08E02 - Into the Dalek

Hello! Long time no comment! (Although I just finished Leverage and I hate/love you and I'm writing things yay) I watched Deep Breath back when it premiered and never followed up. I just had a hard time gearing myself up for Who again after last season (still not forgiving you for that terrible ending you gave the Ponds, Moffat) So here I am, and it's about what I expected: I really like Capaldi, and I like we're getting a potential second companion (I really like having two companions tbh), am still wary of the show in general

Mark Watches : Mark Watches 'Farscape': Season 2 Predictions

Predictions: Everybody lives!!!! (At least through half the season) I'm actually enjoying the John/Aeryn slow burn not immediately acknowledging a relationship just because they had sex so I'm gonna predict a continuation of the insinuation that they are close but no outright statements At least one more character will join the Moya PILOT BACKSTORY PLEASE Talyn and Crais will be in and out of the season Even though the whole family will be together at the end of episode 1 they will have been apart long enough for a future episode to explain what happened in that time In true muppet style the fourth wall will be broken at some time So we covered a lot of sci if tropes last season, so this season I'm going to predict: BODY SWAP John will reference at least one thing from my childhood: I'm thinking Ninja Turtles, Rainbow Brite, Cabbage Patch or possibly even hair bands

Mark Watches : Mark Watches 'Farscape': S01E22 - Family Ties

I loved how this felt immensely like a series finale (hello every season finale of Fringe) and gave the room for character as well as whiz bang action Also Talyn is going to be a super distracting name only because one of my first (and favorite) Fantasy series had a Talen so I'm going to attribute tons of his characteristics to the ship

Things about this episode that were awesome in no particular order: -M'Lee is totally Emily so my name was all over it -Zhaan is a plant! (Insert spoilers about other plant aliens) -John's character arc after being tortured: he is most definitely not ok, but using humor to cover the slight edge of hysteria -AERYN AND PILOT AND BABY AHHHHHHH

I can't remember exact airdates but SeaQuest DSV, Sliders, and if you count them as sci-fi Pretender and Profiler were also mid to late 90s if I recall.

Ok mycommentary will be divided into two parts. 1. This episode: PEOPLE STUCK IN TIME LOOPS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE TROPES. I think it ties into my love of AUs/alternate timelines/alternate history/parallel universes because of the possibilities of character development. It was telegraphed pretty hard that Matala was up to no good, but I did generally like it all 2.The show (so far) : HOW THE HELL DID I MISS WATCHING THIS WHEN IT AIRED????? it fits right into the 90s sci-fi era,and I BREATHED THAT IN LIKE AIR. (it would have made a nice trifecta with SeaQuest DSV and Sliders, and add that into X files, Star Trek: TNG, andto a lesser extent Pretender/Profiler......ok enough about myTV habits as a teenager) I really like the variety of characters, and Rygell looks like an exile from Fraggle Rock and yep. I am SO in

I am super excited to finally be back and commenting. Now that I work an adult job, I've missed out on a lot (although I binge watched Fringe earlier this year , as well as succumbing to Hannibal.) I've also been spending my free time ruminating on a music version of what Mark does only because I think it would be awesome to have an excuse to catch up on all the music I have missed. so here is the unspoilery things I know about Star Trek: I have seen all the movies. Even the reboots (I do hope we get to discuss those) I know quite a bit about TOS without ever having seen it I am pretty sure I have seen all The Next Generation and Voyager I have seen some episodes of Deep Space Nine I think I have seen all of the first season of Enterprise So. Original series episode one: I absolutely love when a TV show drops into the middle of the narrative. Gosh I love everything about the music. (The bongoes in the background in the credits are such an emblem of the time period) I like that the episode was a more 'this what happens to us' episode as opposed to a flash bang one. I have a feeling Bones will be my favorite The technology holds up rather well, except for the actual creature So every episode I am going to give a 'Is this REALLY what the future holds for us' award. Today's winner is the fabulous beehive/crosshatch hairdo. I am definitely excited to finally complete my Star Trek education!
