UNBREADED : Low-Carb Chicken Taco Pizza (with a Low-Carb Crust!)

I did get it from FreshDirect. They let you sort results by nutrition, and that was the lowest-carb sauce.

There are 26 net carbs in the entire recipe. I usually cut mine into 8 slices, so that's 3.25 carbs per slice.

Not Bored NY : Brooklyn Botanical Garden, A Wonderfully Rich Mocha, and A So-So Accidental Vegetarian Dinner: Brook

What a terrible-sounding meal! I was so excited to see you near my 'hood, but it seems like this was disappointment after disappointment. Thank god for the olive oil cake. These pictures look surprisingly great! I especially love the beet one. Even a phone camera can't keep you down.

Not Bored NY : SoNo Marketplace - South Norwalk, CT

Cute stuff! Feeling like I could bring those chopsticks with me everywhere, make my life so much easier, and not be the least bit embarrassed. Maybe I need to buy them for a certain friend of ours who absolutely can't use chopsticks and just shamefully asks for a fork everywhere instead of faking it like the rest of us.

UNBREADED : Vintage Ad: \"It\'s all energy!\"

Yes! Girl-next-door with spider lashes and her tongue out gets them every time. I want there to be a feminist message to this, too, though. "Work out your urges on sugary foods, and you won't have any room for your boyfriend."

UNBREADED : Why We Get Fat

Ugh, not having support from your family is the hardest thing. My boyfriend doesn't agree with low-carbing, but he at least tries to eat low-calorie, so I don't have to sit and watch him chow down in chicken fingers and fries every night. I just keep telling myself that this is right FOR ME and that I have to eat this way no matter what's going on around me. For me, the balance is eating at least two low-carb meals a day. If I know I'm going to want a bad dinner with friends, I always eat a healthy lunch. I wonder if your family would be willing to do that.

So glad you commented, Jennifer, and I do hope this kind of thinking gets you back on track like you want to be. I've found that it's so much easier for me to eat two low-carb meals a day if I know I get to enjoy whatever I want for dinner. Have you read up on the Belly Fat Cure at all? What you're doing with the one carb and 5 grams of sugar per meal sounds very similar.

UNBREADED : How Not to be Crippled by Cramps and Headaches When You\'re Low-Carbing AND Exercising

That's always been a problem for me, too. I'll do the induction phase for way too long and think, "I can't possibly live like this forever! Maybe I'll switch to a low-calorie diet instead; that's more doable." Well, of COURSE I can't live like that forever. I'm not supposed to! When I see how other low-carbers are doing this for life by figuring out how to make their favourite foods lower-carb, I'm so inspired. Even just knowing that I can maintain my weight by eating two low-carb meals a day gives me such hope. I hope you stick with it!

I'll be right over. No, but that is a GREAT call. I think of grilled cheese as something I really miss on a low-carb diet, but I forget that it's totally possible. What am I thinking not making low-carb cheese quesadillas for dinner every night?!

What's sad is that both of us who write this blog kind of hate fish! I'm getting to like it more, but Tracey absolutely hates it and won't touch it. Sounds delicious for summer, though! Maybe we could make it with chicken.

Thanks for reminding me of my own recipe with this comment! Now I want some pancakes. I love the idea of the coconut flour; I've never had that, but I DO have some coconut flakes that would certainly do the same kind of work AND make the thing taste sweeter. Great idea!

I do lentils or quinoa in one pan and then throw them in another pan with some browned meat, spaghetti sauce, and a bag of frozen vegetables. (Kam encourages me to warm the vegetables in a separate pot first, but no.) You have a dishwasher, so you can't complain about two pans. Make a bunch of low-carb wraps loaded with meats and vegetables in one sitting and store them in those Rubbermaid containers. It'll be like going to Subway in your refrigerator? Chipotle bowls with all of the delicious stuff left off! And my flaxseed pancakes can be made in one measuring cup and one pan! I know those aren't helpful at all, though, really. I go through this same struggle all of the time and end up making a million turkey burgers and protein shakes.

We'll drink that sometimes when we feel a cold coming on, and I noticed that it specifically mentioned electrolytes on the box, but I never thought about why I'd need them. I'm like Tracey with the salt, but one time while in Induction, I got the craziest leg cramps that wouldn't go away even though I'd just had a bunch of salt, so I tried just drinking water, and the cramps subsided immediately. Our bodies are funny.

That's what I'm trying to fix right now. I know I'm going to be going out for tasting menus on the weekends, so I need to accept that I can't eat forty pounds of fat during the week. I actually ate part-skim cheese this week and did not die, and I'm hoping that a more moderate diet is going to mean more moderate gains when I'm off it. We'll see. I can stand it, though seriously, why do you not have a real camera? Also, I think we're more like Sid and Nancy than Oprah and Gayle.
