The 20 cent fee will not apply to people with fixed incomes or receiving government assistance. This is not a valid argument. This is not about telling people how to live, it's about conserving natural resources. This is about just changing behavior and making people aware of what they are using. We have to stop being a disposable society.
Plus, if the opponents of this bill had used the millions of dollars they have raised to fight this to buy bags for people with lower incomes, they could all have reusable bags to use! Seems silly they use impoverished people as part of the argument yet spend millions of dollars on air, but none to help these "victims"
