Mike - I think that's *exactly* what Elizabeth was saying. "Mailer". "Mailing cycle" -- not literally, metaphorically. It's comparing "old school" farming to "electronic farming" -- they are *very* similar.

The Phoenix Real Estate Guy : Beta Release of Diverse Solutions Phoenix Home Search Now Live on TPREG

Joe - No idea about the "1+" bedrooms thing, but I do know DS is very receptive to customer input... I haven't seen the implementation of the parking yet (they have to update the back end of the system first), so can't comment to that. The search itself will squeeze/stretch to fill available space. I use a "no sidebar", full width page in order to make it as large as possible, but I've seen DS IDX implemented on much narrower pages.

Oh wait, duh, you're already using DS's IDXpress.... so you know how it works. But IDXPress isn't, and was never intended to be, a replacement for an IDX search. It's more of a compliment to an IDX search. Personally, if I had to pick one or the other, I'd go with the search. The IDXPress plugin is really good stuff for adding indexable content to a WordPress site, but it's not a full blown search -- which is what most people looking for homes on the internet want and need.

I'll never understand MLS's and boards that don't allow agents to use some of the tools that are available. They benefit agents, as well as home buyers and sellers. Seems like a no-brainer. And it's absurd how some boards and MLS's handcuff their PAYING members....

Jonathan - it's still a script that is framed in, so it's not indexed. But Diverse has a great plugin for WordPress that does produce indexable pages. It's not really for searching, but you can integrate indexable listings into posts, or build community and zip code lists that produce indexable content. Scroll down and look at the links in the black footer area on this page. Those are all links that use the IDXPress plugin from Diverse Solutions to create indexable listings.

Paul - I haven't heard (or tried) anything with mobile. I doubt it, as it's designed for a web page. Agreed about searching by parking. But for the life of me, I don't see that selection actually in the search. Have submitted that to the developers.

The Phoenix Real Estate Guy : Rustler's Rooste: Atmosphere, Food, Service. Cool, OK, Horrific

Hi Candice - Thanks for stopping by! I must admit I was surprised to see your comment pop up as I wrote this review over three years ago on August 2, 2007. I haven't been back to Rustler's -- not because of my experience there back in '07, but simply because the opportunity has just never come up. I waited tables (a LONG time ago) and know how hard it is. In re-reading this review, I may have been a bit harsh. But as I mentioned in one of the comments, I place a LOT of value on service -- maybe too much, but that's just the way I am. I'm certainly willing to give it another shot should the opportunity present itself. And I have to give you kudos for replying here publicly, albeit just a wee bit after the experience. But hey, better late than never! Best, Jay
