So, I'd never heard of these books, or Tamora Pierce (I STILL DON'T KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED), until last week when I checked the schedule to see what was coming up. I'd just got my Kindle, and I was deeply disturbed after finishing Duma Key by Stephen King (having a high temperature at the time probably didn't help matters). So I just bought Alanna and finished it late that night, immediately bought the second book, and by the following afternoon I'd finished the third one. I haven't read the last one yet, I'll probably wait until Mark gets there. So basically I'M REALLY EXCITED. In the meantime, onwards with The Wise Man's Fear. I can't put it down!

I'M FINALLY ALL CAUGHT UP! I wish I could have followed along on Sandman, but it was impossible! I still have to finish all the LOTR reviews though.... I can't even comment on this book, I read it a few months ago and it quickly occupied a place in my all-time favourite books list. I don't even know how to express my love for it. To sum up: I AM SO EXCITED.

Thank you, you've just made me realise who he reminds me of! My grandpa! He's 87 and he's still as sharp as ever, moving about and making awesome models of Egyptian temples! I always say I wish I can reach his age half as well as he did. <3

Oh dear lord I've had to do that with some students of mine. Like RIGHT, ACTIVITY STOPPED AND YOU'RE GOING TO LISTEN TO ME NOW. Not particularly with girls bringing themselves down, but with homophobic slurs. It's so hard to make children understand that they can't use words like gay as an insult, or worse, the Spanish equivalent to your F-word. And the worst part is that when I start talking about this, they start with the "Why do you care so much? Are you gay?" and I'm like FFFFFFFUUUUUU THAT'S NOT THE POINT. I'm not btw, it just really pisses me off. I'm just trying to be a decent human being, and most importantly, trying to raise a new generation. I'm really trying to eradicate every kind of problematic language out of my vocabulary too. omg rant over.

Mark read Twilight so that you wouldn't have to! That was precisely the point! Read the reviews, they are hilarious and brilliant and touch on many important subjects, and while I did read the books, I suppose that you don't need to in order to appreciate the reviews. :)
