I am against wind power because it only kills the birds too stupid to avoid those humongous turbines. (I mean, really, have you been up close to those things? They're freakin' huge!) Once all the stupid birds are killed off, the smart ones will breed with each other creating a race of super birds. Eventually, as birds get smarter and smarter they'll take over the planet and make us their slaves. That's why I think we should stick with oil and coal.

Fortune cookies are believed to have been invented in Japan or the US. They are virtually unknown in China. That's just more evidence that your arguments don't hold up. Who cares is a food sample is uncommon? Does that mean no one should eat it? C'mon, live in the real world.
If you're talking about other officers and other instances which have nothing to do with this case, then, yes, it is jumping to conclusions.
Assuming that KATU is reporting the facts correctly, I'll have to back up the police in this instance. The 911 caller said that Campbell was armed and suicidal. They only shot him (with beanbags first) after he became noncompliant with their orders. They shot him to prevent him from going back into the apartment building filled with people. I'm not saying that the police are totally blameless; I'm all for a full investigation. There are still questions to be answered. I wonder why the officer fired a kill-shot rather than hitting him in the legs or butt. That would have stopped him. I'm just saying that it appears to be a justified shooting for now.

I agree that the city could/should have done more, but the lack of readiness was just a small part of the problem. What I saw was that Tri-Met really screwed up. Their buses were sliding off roads everywhere I looked. Don't they carry chains during winter months? I saw about a dozen of them stranded off the side of Terwiliger Blvd. Cars were slow, but getting along just fine if stranded buses weren't blocking their way. Tri-Met didn't even have it's website updated. I found more information about bus routes on KATU.com than I did from Tri-Met.

katsmitt, you say that a Tigard police officer told you they were 'voice to skulling' Colton. Did it ever occur to you that he told you such an outlandish tale because you are so gullible? Maybe the officer (assuming that he ever did tell you such a thing) just wanted to have some fun with you. And why would they be harassing you? Maybe you're a criminal?
