The list Buzz displays does not consist of people you email most often. It consists of people you've emailed WHO HAVE ACTIVATED GOOGLE BUZZ. Hardly surprising, then, that most of the people on that list would be Google employees. They've probably been using it internally for some time before public launch. This article rests, then, on a misconception. As was clarified during subsequent discussion, many of these folks haven't communicated with McLaughlin in years. The anonymous contributor of this post about transparency may be able to work several years at a company without making a single friend. I guess McLaughlin is more sociable.
