I've worked in union shops for many decades - they never did anything for me but take my money (when I was young and didn't know any better) and laugh all the way to the bank. Not anymore - they should be history now. If you do your job to the best of your ability, put the company, product and customer first where the other workers feel the same - then everyone who works there and the company will succeed and everyone will benefit. the trick is finding that kind of working environment - it is possible to find those kinds of companies even in the Federal government system - and keeping your eye focused on the objective. You add unions to the mix, then the focus gets blurry and the forward movement hits a brick wall and everyone looses. Unions are expensive dead weight that suck the life out of businesses, drain employees of financial resources that could be better used by the individual and offer no positive stability to employment or employee advancement. just my experience of 40+ years. It's always good to review pertinent lessons most of us adults should have covered in the history or social studies classes we had in high school. History and social science have been removed from a lot of curriculums these days - guess its much easier to bring about chaos if the younger generations don't have a clue about what has happened historically speaking. Seems to account for youth who don't believe the holocaust ever happened.
