Big Government : Classy: OccupyCharlotte Protesters Burn American Flags

If you personally find someone you want to help and "pay it forward" then good on you. It is a good thing when you personally choose to do it. However, forcing taxpayers to take money they have worked for and pay for someone's education isn't "charity", especially if they are already working on paying for their own education.

No, but demanding that everyone else be required to pay for that education certainly is.

Big Government : Perry Should Have a Plan against Southern Bigotry

Come on down again sometime! My wife and I love it here (the heat and humidity are a bit much sometimes). We're originally from Tennessee but moved here from the Seattle area so I understand what you mean about loving the natural beauty of an area but not necessarily the social problems/politics of a place. Here in the South there are still some people who haven't gotten over their prejudices, but they are fewer and fewer these days. Besides, it's hard to beat the southern hospitality and sweet tea :)

Not a Perry supporter myself, but when progressives go apoplectic over "ignorant, backward, racist, Southerners", I have to chuckle to myself over the fact that I live in the 1st Congressional district of Charleston, SC where I am represented by a black conservative Republican. The Irony is delicious.

Breitbart.tv : Obama to Hold Senior and Vets Benefits Hostage for Tax Increases

This is the one of the most ridiculous things I've read in a while. To quote ” BUSINESSES create and take away jobs...PEOPLE don't". Yes, that's right, businesses create themselves and run completely autonomous from human beings. PEOPLE create businesses and have to change their hiring, firing, healthcare plans, benefits, and pay raises according to how much money they have left after paying for their taxes and expenses, period. "the tax increases on the wealtiest (sic) would affect the INDIVUALS....NOT the companies they run or work for". This is also completely detached from reality. Most of those "millionaires and billionaires" (there really are very few billionaires in comparison to the population) are your neighbors who own small businesses and have to file their business income as personal income. So the owner of John Smith plumbing may look like he's making over a million a year on his tax return, but he personally is getting to keep a small fraction of that, the rest of it is in his business paying for salaries, work vehicle upkeep, materials, business insurance, etc... So when his taxes go up he hires fewer people, can't give raises, and might wind up having fewer people working more hours to cover the workload. You seem to have a fundamental lack of understanding of how businesses work. Even large corporations are run and owned by people, they don't simply exist in a vacuum.

Breitbart.tv : NBC's Richard Engel: War on Terrorism = 'War of Fear'

Relativism is a slow poison. This is not to never admit that we are wrong, however, if as a people you remove the idea that there are absolutes you can no more condemn suicide bombers than you can a liar since who is to say they are wrong? Further down you quote a passage from Christ of "He who is without sin, cast the first stone". As a fellow Christ follower, it certainly is not our job to be the final judge of others but Jesus never says (nor was it the contextual meaning in that verse) that no one can ever say someone else is wrong because they are not perfect. Remember, it was Christ Himself that said "I Am THE Way, THE Truth, THE Life. NO ONE comes unto the Father except through me." That does not strike me as the words of someone who doesn't believe in absolutes (Granted, this is the Son of God). As Christ followers we believe that absolute truth exists, that there are things that are right and wrong, and don't change over time. And while we have a duty to admit it when we are wrong, we are not obligated to commit cultural suicide in the face of terrorism.

Breitbart.com : California mom sues McDonald\'s over Happy Meals

"But as other busy, working moms and dads know, we have to say 'no' to our young children so many times, and McDonald's makes that so much harder to do." Well boo freaking hoo, you actually have to be a parent and tell your kids "no". I get it, it's annoying when your kids constantly ask for something, it's why you don't take them down the cereal isle, but to sue a company for making a product your kid wants and asks for all the time is beyond asinine.

Big Journalism : MSNBC's Contessa Brewer Pleads for Government-Forced Environmentalism

You know, for a group (the progressives) that accuses the tea party and conservatives of being "nazis" and "fascists" so often, they sure do have a lot of fascist tendencies. Just out of today's BIG articles we have forced environmentalism, Senator Rockefeller wanting to cut Foxnews off the air (and MSNBC, you know - just to be fair, of course not realizing they aren't subject to the FCC), and then there's the TSA's "feel me up or put me on a centerfold" security policy. Now, all we need is some leftist goofball to give us universal healthcare.....DOH!
