It will be interesting to see how successful they are after the deal. There were some passionate reactions when McDonalds bought Pret a Manger, L'Oreal bought Body Shop and Unilever took over Ben & Jerrys. I'm not sure how sales were affected over the longer term though - and even if they did flatten off, how much is due to sector maturity? Does anyone have any stats for these companies post deal? Did sales get dented?
The whole USP of Innocent was quirky and non-corporate... and many customers I am sure loved them for that. How many will stay/ pay a premium when the products are the same as any other from a food multinational?
I fear that a lot of value will be destroyed.
Twitter to me seems like a solution waiting for a problem. I will persist... maybe, just maybe, I will find a use for it...
I'm sure that is part of the strategy... become so embedded in people's lives by giving them "free" stuff like email, survey tools, photo storage etc that if governments ever try to apply a little "heat" then loyal consumers may help protect them (if they feel free tools may be jeopardised).
It is in Polish only when you click on the article header and go "down a level". If you look at the top level, that Ads by Google bit is in English. If I go into any of the other articles and go down a level, the text seems to be English as well. Double Weird.
Just checking my Google Ads to the right of the blog, andnoticed that it currently says"Reklamy Google" instead of "Ads by Google". The ads are still in English though. Weird!! Does it think I am blogging from Poland???!!!

Perhaps some courses just don't have any real key takeways... they work more slowly permeating your subconscious, so that just when you are not expecting it, you pull a key insight "out of the bag".
And dazzle your mates in the process.
Good point. We touched on this in class with the "offline"/brand building value in those financial models... but could this actually be tracked in real life?
