Glad your Mum is OK 'KTT'.....wish we could hear from my husbands two brothers. They both live in the heart of Christchurch. I would bet the power is out where they are.

This issue is not dead yet. Come on people on the Plateau. If you want to save history get involved.
Between the Heritage Society and the City of Sammamish, step up and have your say (in person if possible)
Talk is easy, but action is necessary.

Supposedly there will be a Historical Society special meeting at the Pine Lake Community Club Wed. Feb 10th (tomorrow night) at 7 p.m. I hope those that would like to have a say will come.

PawPaBear, you must be Leslie's age??? Did you go to Issaquah High School? Raised my kids just above the Boeing Farm (back in the day when it was black angus and rolling fields).

Inside the utility room of that "old" house are marks on the archway. I showed them to Ron Howard when they made the movie. The marks are a "C" and an "L" for my father Clarence and his brother Leslie Skogman. In 1915 when my Dad was born, my grandma had to travel across the lake to get to Seattle. My great grandmother took care of my Dad while my grandmother worked on the big farm (now Marymoor).
My grandfather Victor worked at the Monahon Mill and both my Dad and his brother Leslie graduated from Issaquah High School, Dad in 1933. While they were living in that "old" house, there were dances that people from miles around came to join in.
There is a lot of misinformation about that "old" house, and yes, $700,000. is a lot of money, but there is little left of any history on the "Pine Lake Plateau", where I lived and also raised two children.
I pray that someone could donate the time at least to move her, if that is what has to be done.
Or, better idea, since that is a landmark where 'she' sits, why can't 'she' just stay there. A Monahon address maybe once again, sitting on what used to be the original 75 acres. When Grandpa sold to Oscar Freed, who would have thought ? When the moonshiners (renters) had their stills broken up in the big old red barn (that is gone now) during prohibition, who would have thought? When we all climbed the big old walnut tree in the driveway and could see for miles green trees, cows and horses, who would have thought that one day there would be so many roof tops, and history sliding away with time?
I'm rambling, sorry.

thank you, and that is true, except in this case the scanner in question is on the top right side of KOMO's front page....live fore everyone.......if it was a closed circuit the law would be as you stated.
If I am wrong, I will apologize.

No info on white male, only black male. What is being said on TV doesn't go with what Seattle PD is broadcasting on their scanner......(our guys are doubling up on their patrols and hope we all have their backs today .....as everday)
