I will repeat my serious complaint which most certainly does impact my experience of watching the game. Despite there being flat screen monitors every 50 feet in the corridor concession areas, there is NOT ONE in the Shake Shake / Blue Smoke / Awesome Food area. This is unacceptable and compounded by the ridiculously long wait* to get food. Your standing there for two innings with no idea what's happening on the field. And the salt in the wound is that there is a tremendous screen on the back of the score board in full view, but it just shows the batter's face and stats like on the front of the scoreboard. That is unacceptable. *I said "long wait" and not "long lines" because while long lines are to a certain extent unavoidable if lots of people want the same thing, waiting 30 minutes to get the the front of a 10 person line is absurd in any context, but totally baffling when there are 4 people behind the counter and everyone is ordering the same food over and over again.

I stood on that bridge all night last night with glove, just waiting to catch a left handed bomb and Delgado drops it there tonight. Oh well. Peavy doesn't see the 5th inning tonight.

Hey John Maine: Guess what. You're going to get into trouble at some point tonight. Man on second with no outs. Walk and a fluke hit gets em on the corners with one out. Whatever it is, it will happen. But here's the thing: THAT'S NOT THE TIME TO GO TO PIECES. Take a breath, get your outs, and be a man. You have to learn to pitch through adversity. Let's see some maturity tonight. Let's Go Mets!

MetsBlog.com : Live: Blogging from Citi Field

Was at the game last night. For all the glory that is Citi Field, one major complaint. When you are in the Shake Shack/Blue Smoke food emporium, your view of the field is entirely obstructed. This would not be so bad if you had any one of the thousands of flat screens on which to watch the action when you are waiting in line for two innings. But there are exactly none. This is even more frustrating because there is an enormous screen on the back of the scoreboard for all to see. The problem is that it just shows whatever is on the new DiamondVision thing on the other side facing the park, i.e., video of replays, the batter walking up to the plate, etc., but then when the at-bat begins, it just shows the batters oversized face, stats and the game line- no video feed. This is horrible. There you are, wondering how on earth it could take four counter people 30 minutes to get through 10 people ordering the same damn food over and over again, and you hear the crowd roaring and signing and booing, but all you can see is the batter's big frozen grin staring down at you. That's ridiculous. That food court area is one of the great features of the park, but you shouldn't have to choose between it and watching the game. I shouldn't have to be refreshing the WAP MLB page on my phone to find out what is happening 20 feet away.
