Thank you for your forgiveness, Anne. It means a lot to know others struggle with the same thing, even if they seem to have "made it" as far as success goes.

You are so bang on. But, it's so flippin' hard to do. Wish I knew why.

You're so right, Aaron. We do change every day. I guess it just frustrates me to not have at least a bit of an idea which path I am on. I just wish I could figure it out.

Thanks, Andrew! Yeah, I really dig the name as well. I really like how the two perspectives it portrays: God being present in our lives and community, and our community being the presence of God in the world.

Hey Matt,

I have talked back and forth with the GS guys quite a bit. I also got some help from John Ashenden down there.

Yours was my favourite of the "old logo" icons. I just felt the new logo needed to be represented. I will upload the preview image to flickr asap!

Pat Dryburgh : A Child

Hey everyone, Thanks so much for all of the info! Just a reminder that what we're really hoping for are some personal stories of how sponsoring a child has changed/affected your life. Great thoughts from Dave on that. Any more?

Reminds me of the time all the NPM churches were shut down last year because of the snow… that same morning Connexux church had a foot+ of snow and we were still there at 6am ;)

Thanks, Dave. Quite frankly, you're right. We do need to "just do it." I guess the best thing to do is really think seriously about what options are out there, take action, and re-examine the options as you go.

Pat Dryburgh : A Child

Hey Justin, I think for me, my fear would be that we would put the desire to proselytize the world ahead of Jesus' command to take care of those in need. I think when we say "take care of the spiritual side as well," we are separating different aspects of one life, which is a very western way of looking at life. I think if we spent time in different cultures, we would see that they see all of life as a single compartment, that when you feed on literal bread you are feeding both the physical and spiritual bodies.

Hey Dave, That's awesome! It sounds like you have a great relationship with your child. Do you write every month or so? Would you tell us a bit more about what the child is like, what the relationship is like, etc?

Pat Dryburgh : A Child

Thanks for the comment Dave! I have to admit, my desire in this isn't really to be part of a mission to convert other cultures to Christianity. Though, you are right when you say the child/sponsor relationship model is symbollic of the Chris/Christian relationship: "For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink." (Matthew 25:35). Christ is those children who we are called to feed and clothe.
