It seems to me, if you look at the design of the street, I am not sure it can take the traffic right there. Amazon Parkway is one way north and south. And Williamette Street right there makes a sharp turn to the right and is one way. And do we not already have 2 Fred Meyers in Eugene. West 11 3300 block and then Santa Clara, and in Springfield on Q Street.
Just down the street on Williamette you have PC Market of Choice and Rite Aide and a Health Food Store middle way down Williamette Street, and not more than 4 blocks at the most north is Safeway. And do we need another store. It is just like Eugene to tear down historical building for junk building that go out of business in no time. Just like the Ray's Grocery Store on River Rd. Open maybe two years and then empty. I think the neighbors should protest and fight this. I wonder if there is the paperwork that says this ball park was to used for the public. And if there is one, then I believe they would have to honor it still. You know maybe they should let a Non-profit Organization rent the building like the Em's rented it for years. But the Super. of the Eugene Public Schools is not smart, and since he is retiring he wants to just make a name for himself before he leaves. Right or wrong. And I too have seen many a game at Civic. First game I saw was in 1959 at 5 and many more since then. Get a life Mr. Russell.

I personally think the driver of the truck should lose his CDL license, and not be allowed to drive again until he has gone through a complete training course again. And I think where this took place, if my memory serves me right there is a turn lane there. And how dumb can we be to try to pass in a no passing lane.
Since it was the semi-drivers fault they should throw the book at him.
But I think they probably will give him a slap on the hand, and a fine and leave it at that.

The problem with this kind of behavior is that probably the persons that had the parties at their places will not get into any trouble. No one will try to find out whom was there. And no one will pay for all the damage but the tax payers if you live in Hippie Eugene.
IF there were tough rules for those went there, then their wouldn't be this kind of behavior. I think they have arrested some, then the best thing would be to kick them out of school, and teach the rest a lesson, that if you do the same and get caught, you will be out of school too.

Living near a Medical marijuana places, I am sure all those people that come back and forth are not all on the Card to get it.
Might be a good idea if the State runs it, and polices it.
But like IKnowbetter stated the police better be able to prove how doped up someone is driving before they give them a ticket. So they would need a blood test.
Maybe this will lead to better policing of a good idea for those that need it, but those that are doing may not be checking their clients very well, and letting some slide that do not meet the requirements.
