WAVY.com : Costly travel expenses for Mayor Holley

Why would the mayor not be held to some sort of standard when traveling? He, and all City employees, ought to be held to the standard perdiem rates when traveling. And, what benefit to the taxpayers of this fair city gain with Mary Holley attending any conference. I say make the mayor payback the excess charges. Then, he ought to consider stepping down... or perhaps we'll just remove him from office...

Many years ago (before THE GUARDIAN but after TOP GUN), I wrote a screenplay titled STORM WARRIORS. A key element of the plot was the use of topedos for smuggling and, in the screenplay, to hold a kidnapped person. When the good folks at MOPIC TV read the play they told me I'd over-reached and the scenario was implausible. Guess I was ahead of the times...

Sparky, these are not meant to generate comments... these are prompts for you, the reader, to think about your leadership within your own situation. As noted early on, they're built for introspection and, perhaps, a little journaling, not for comments...

Nice work, MrJacksonThomas. Keep hiding behind your pseudonym. It makes you look smarter and more creditable. I'm always appreciative of such biting insight coming from someone hiding deep inside a closet. Do keep posting, as I'm sure that everyone follows this blog only to read what you have to say, even if you do it in that I'll-remain-in-the-dark-because-I-don't-trust-the-organization-I-claim-to-love way. You do set such a fine example.

CGBlog.org :: An Unofficial Coast Guard Blog : Why the Coast Guard demands blogging in the clear

Announcement? I'm still thinking the issue over and have yet to make a decision. The contributors to this blog (those listed on the masthead) made a number of suggestions and comments, but there really wasn't consensus. Nor do I see consensus here for what those who comment would recommend. For tonight, I'm deciding to do nothing about this but rather to let it ferment a little longer.
