I was not as excited about the design of this cabin as I have been in some of the past designs. I love the boat dock, however!!!!
Wouldn't it be fun and interesting to have a real "blog cabin", that takes all of it's clues from a majority, democratic vote on all phases of the design! Then that would be a real challenge for the designers to make it work. Maybe even have some competition with designers to come up with the best design!

A fresh snow fall is always beautiful and the photos in the Dream Home slide show did not disappoint! We just had some heavy wet snow around Tahoe. It supposed to continue tonight and tomorrow, but we are also getting some high winds tomorrow too. I've always loved to watch the snow blanket landscape, the sides of the trees, all the while looking like a diamond encrusted fantasy land. Can you say blizzard?

but you could do some serious cross country there around the Dream House! Blustery outside, but cozy inside. Can't wait for the tour!

"Truckee Averages 206 Inches of Snow a Year", at least that's the information that image #2 says in the "Behind the Build package" slides.

Well Architect David Bourke and the HGTV team have considered every possible situation for a house to have to deal with in the Tahoe area, fire, heavy snow fall, earthquakes and they have done it with exquisite style! It isn't even finished and it is already beautiful! I appreciate all of the things that are not apparent in this structure, but I love all of the thinks that are, the windows, (double panned, no doubt), the views, the design, the materials. I even love the bears, the rocks and trees and the cold! Thankfully Bourke, project contractor Mike Efstratis and team have thought of those too! Bears are so smart, but they aren't a bother if they know that they can't get a handout.
