hey guys!! spirit is working great for me!! thanks!! i just have few questions. is there any other way to hacktivate my iPhone 3GS? (as spirit doesnt hacktivate) should we expect the unlock around the OS 4.0 launch?(i mean; i havent read the news lately, had the dev team made any progress on 5.12 baseband?) Thanks a lot in advance!!!!!! :-)

i know that confucious. what i ment is that there is a chance of getting your iPhone factory unlocked through your provider (movistar in my case but i should be similar with the other providers) even when you bought if factory locked and you havent end the 24 o 18 months contract. Remember all these guys with their iphone upgraded to the latest modem baseband by mistake. They could use the phone again.

Hi, everyone!! First i just want to thanks to Dev Team AGAIN for this GREAT job on offering the chance of improve our devices via unlocking and/or jailbreaking. You guys are simply GREAT!!! Second i just want to give some information to those guys who need to unlock their devices. (slight off topic but interesting) I have an iPhone 3G factory locked with Movistar spain. After few months i decided i didnt want to continue with that company (extremely bad call rates, etc...) so i broke the contract with them (paid the fee) and move to Orange. I´ve been using my 3G jailbreaked and unlocked since then. AND, you know..... carefully avoiding updating via iTunes....etc.....let´s say i suffered "baseband upgrade paranoia" :-) Well, yesterday i read an article on a spanish blog about Movistar officially unlocking the iPhones under several conditions. I´m in Orange now but i called them anyway. After few calls an operator said i was eligible for a unlock. (conditions were: - if you paid the total cost of the iPhone or - if you already spent 12 months on the company -12 bills- despite the months you are supposed to stay (in the case of spain about 18 or 24 months) or - (this is really interesting) none of those!!!! Some people have claimed to call Movistar after 4 o 5 months since they bought the iPhone and have their iPhones unlocked!!! (they still have to stay in the company BUT your iPhone becomes factory unlocked!!!) So, i was saying, i called yesterday morning and..... yesterday afternoon i uninstalled ultrasnow, restarted the phone and plugged the iPhone to iTunes with my orange sim card, started to sync and.... voila! A message appeared: "Congratulations, your iphone is unlocked" All i say is Jailbreaking is becoming more complicated. So It would be great stop worrying about baseband upgrades. Give it a try, call your operator and ask for a unlock. I got it yesterday. Hard to believe but true.
