Yep, you got me, I'm a bought-and-paid-for member of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy (VRWC, copyright 1998, Hillary Clinton) who's so scared of your paranoid little website that I'm doing my best to "discredit" it (because simply READING it would of course NEVER give anybody the idea that you're a friggin' LUNATIC.) I congratulate you for your ingenuity in uncovering our plot, although you missed one part. But as a demonstration of our contempt, I will reveal it to you now... The conspiracy is not being led by politicians and dead celebrities as you suppose, but by us, the Psy-Op warriors of the new world order on Planet Mungo, here to steal your precious bodily fluids! And your puny little tin-foil hat will not stop me from sucking out your brain, especially once my black helicopters unleash the mighty hordes of manbearpigs living in your sewers! MWA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!!!!! Not only that, but we're going to reanimate Vince Foster (with Hitler's brain), put Halliburton and the Jews in charge of Greenland, send Grand Admiral Elvis to flouridate the Federal Reserve, and have Lee Harvey Oswald force the networks to put "Joanie Loves Chachi" back on the air. The invasion begins on December 21 (our Mayan love-children were right.) The saucers will be landing in YOUR town first, AARON, from 6:66 am to 9:11 pm, and YOU -- CANNOT -- HIDE...

Frank, I've lived in Texas for years, and I have never heard that. Can you provide any evidence? As near as I can tell, it's just like Hojo said: a woman in Texas just wouldn't necessarily CARE whether it's legal.

"Iron Sky" looks like it will be fun. Personally, I think it would be a lot better without the gratuitous slaps at conservatives, but the Hollywood types just about wet themselves whenever there are some of those "wink-wink-look-I'm-one-of-you" moments.
I've seen :"Star Wreck: ITP." It's a shame the writing and acting are so amateurish, especially compared to the highly professional effects work. I confess I liked it a lot better before it was translated and I found out it was supposed to be a "comedy." As for "Iron Sky," it has a great look to it.
I agree with most of your post, but I don't think most of the Saudi royal family is all that "invested in spreading Islam." My impression is that they're more businessmen and politicos than anything else, and are (like Obama) religious only to the extent necessary to keep the "correct" public image.

There's a reason this is big news. "NewCastrati," I agree that this is an appeasement gesture (although not to avoid being a target; Saudi Arabia is "Holy Land" to the Muslim world, and any Muslim nation that dropped a nuke on it would have problems with not only every government in the world, but also its OWN people.) However, I suspect there's some very careful triangulation going on here, because the Saudis would never have let Iranian naval vessels into their ports before this. Iran has designs on becoming the "premiere" Muslim nation in the world; getting a nuke (more for bragging rights than for actual use) is a big part of that. Like most of the ruling classes in the Arab nations, the Saud family is Sunni, but the populace of Saudi Arabia is Shia like the Iranians. Because of this, the Sauds hate Iran as much or more than they do the West; they know the Christian West will never be able to come in and lead away their people, but Iran just might be able to make some inroads. So until now they've kept them at arm's length, to prevent any chance of Iran extending its influence over the Saudi people. However, the Saudis probably know that sooner or later Israel is going to have to go in and destroy the Iranian nuke sites. To do that, the planes will have to cross Jordan and Saudi Arabia. When that happens, the Saudis will scream bloody murder about it and then... do nothing, because they'll be glad to have Iran slapped back into its place, and the threat of them being the first in the area with a nuke eliminated. When that day comes, their having cuddled up a bit now will just give the Saud family "plausible deniability" with both the Iranians, and with their own people, who will be a lot more worked up over the Israelis' actions than their rulers are.

Iran is Muslim, but the rest of the Muslim world is just about as worried about them as we are. Iran is Shiite, whereas the ruling classes in the Arab nations are all Sunni, and don't want to see Iran further extending its influence over their own Shiite populations. My bet is that Israel will do the heavy lifting here. They'll go in with airstrikes, flying over Arab nations to do so. The Arab nations will scream and rant about the Zionist violation of their sovereignty, and then... do nothing, because they're glad to have at least one enemy reduced, without taking on the other.

It's not a problem that he let the shuttle program die; it was supposed to be phased out pretty soon anyway. What IS a problem is that he killed the follow-on programs that would have taken over when the shuttles were retired. In doing so, Obama has left us in the humiliating situation of astronauts from NASA, once the premiere space program in the WORLD, having to ask the Russians if we can pretty-please catch a ride with them on one of their rockets. Imagine the kind of American president who is NOT bothered by that...

By "irresponsible actors," they're talking about China. In 2007, the Chinese tested an anti-satellite system that blasted its target and added thousands of pieces of debris. The Chinese are ramping up their space capability, and even plan to attempt a moon landing in the next decade (only 50 years after we did it using slide rules!) Unless you can get them to agree (which they probably won't) this is all a waste of time.

And just as with the ethanol scam, the Volt is economically viable (barely) only if subsidized by the taxpayers, up to QUARTER-MILLION DOLLARS of subsidies PER CAR! http://www.michigancapitolconfidential.com/16192 At least with ethanol, the subsidies were propping up corn prices which might benefit some farmers. All the Volt subsidies do is further enrich the scum of the auto unions, and the smug elitist greenie-weenies who want to drive the damn things.

The main way to produce hydrogen is to strip it from hydrocarbons, which would hardly relieve us of dependence on oil. Yes, you can use electrolysis to get hydrogen from water, but that takes electricity, which is produced mainly by... hydrocarbons.
