Too many sailing balls and overthrows. Too often he seems to be "white knuckling" it and playing nervous...It was a great win and a really fun game to watch, but our guys need to tighten it up. That game looked way too much like the Hawai'i game and not enough like UMass. Com'on fellas, let's tighten it up. The line opened up good holes and the runners took advantage. If they would have done more of that last week we would have won by 2 touchdowns. It was only UMass and I don't expect 390 on the ground every week, but if our guys can keep pounding the rock effectively it will help that struggling air attack. For me, besides the win, the thing that made me happy was seeing our Buffs play the cleanest most disciplined game I have seen them play in a very very long time...Don't wanna get too pumped up, but today was about as encouraging as last week wasn't. There was still plenty of time to go back to what had been working (running off tackle) so they could throw against a defense on its heels rather than a defense (and entire world) that knew what was coming. The boys have mostly improved with each game and have played the best football anyone has seen on the hill in a while. Rebuilding is hard in any conference, never mind the Pac12. People need to relax and get off of the instant gratification trip and let people work. The wins have yet to materialize, but starting over isn't gonna make um materialize any faster. Right now we are seeing progress without payoff, it is still better than regression. If we see regression, I will be the first to complain but until then let's stay the course and enjoy watching our guys climb that mountain.
