KATU - Portland, OR : After 3,300 leads, Kyron search comes back to Skyline | KATU.com - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic an

All this effort to bring Kyron back - and what's to come back to? A dad that has ditched 2 women and taken their kids? Now who do you suppose he will find to look after this little girl for him? another woman that doesn't really want that job? Look at how he has played up to the media - not to find Kyron, but to influence the public to his side in his domestic quarrel. Unless Kyron got sold to some pervert, likely he is better off where he is than he ever could be by being brought back.

KATU - Portland, OR : Bedbugs overtake Portland apartments | KATU.com - Breaking News, Sports, Traffic and Weather - Portl

I do believe there is a typo in the following portion: please see where I have inserted 'not' in parentheses. Otherwise the discussion does not quite make sense. Also, as best I can determine, the reason the bedbug is not listed as a vector, is because it doesn't transmit human diseases that we know of. Some people can develop severe allergies to them, however. "Bed bugs are not listed as a vector in Oregon, and there is no mandatory reporting system for bed bug infestations. A vector is any organism capable of transmitting disease, such as fleas, ticks, mosquitoes and rodents. They are capable of carrying human pathogens, but they’ve been (not?) proven to transmit disease between humans. If bed bugs were deemed a vector, landlord and tenant laws could be rewritten to help landlords treat units effectively and help tenants comply with treatment requirements." One of the huge problems with DDT was the thinning of eggshells of birds, particularly birds of prey. It seems to me that DDT could be used effectively against bedbugs without endangering the birds for the simple reason that bedbugs are inside, and the birds are outside. There should be no problem with the birds contacting the poison, or eating poisoned bedbugs.

Uh, huh, the fiber goes to hemp and the leaves and buds.... oh, I suppose we don't know anything about THAT! But some is sure to escape the compose heap - too lucrative to use for mere methanol.

Doesn't anybody wear a dust mask? I do. Keep the pollen out of the nose and the problem doesn't happen. However, when the pollen count really soars, the eyes take it as well. I haven't yet gone to wearing swim goggles outside, but it would probably work - but be pretty uncomfortable on a hot day.

KATU - Portland, OR : Should Oregon change its tune? | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | Local

The video was pretty, but that won't help us sing it. I couldn't figure out the lyrics, and it sounds pretty clumsy to sing. Without the video, I can't see much merit in the new song. The old song was easy to sing - I can still do the first verse without looking - but I agree that the march music is rather passe, and certainly the historical meaning is lost on most folks. It was rather popular during the centenial year. Not against something new, but hey, make it easy and fun to sing, OK?

Good idea. responsibilty is still called for - the hens need to be confined, perhaps a wing clipped, so they don't leave droppings on the neighbor's patio furniture.

And he had "a brief stint in jail for failing to follow sex offender rules" - sounds like maybe he got less time than she did. Not cool. And one very brave woman who laid her all on the line for her children and the neighbor's to a man who had returned to the neighborhood - to kids he had talked to before (SCARY) - and suceeded! Perhaps technically there was a better approach, but it may not have worked, either. I hope she has no regrets.

That's too radical, won't fly. But I think requiring significant liability insurance would be a good move - and lesser amounts of liability insurance for other breeds in accordance with the amount of harm they tend to cause.

I like the idea, but if a school district REALLY wants to save money, they should dissolve the district. Independent schools can function with quite a bit less overhead. Teachers have told me that what they gain from the district in support is more than offset by extra requirements of the district.

Aloha, 9 AM Sunday, 9 1/2" new snow with a crust on top, making 9" total snow, with about 1" water in the new snow. Temp is 20 F. The kitten is trying to walk on top of the snow, and mostly succeeding, the dog cracks her shins on the icy crust. The traffic has kept the snow depth down on the roads so most vehicles will have enough clearance once they get out of their driveway.
