So if the government can take anything over 250k, when will that number change? At this rate, the government could one day decide that a combined income of 150K is too much if you work for any organization that receives government funding. Are you listening college professors? Researchers? Anyone . . . . .anyone?

By the way, the way this bill is written the criminals who accelerated the $3 billion dollars of bonuses at Merrill Lynch into December of last year while they were busy losing $15 billion in the same quarter get to keep their money. That's your government at work for you. This bill was passed so quickly most people had no clue what it meant. One thing is for sure: there will be a mass migration overseas for jobs in the financial sector. No one in their right mind with smarts will stick around in this climate.

So now 250K a year is the new "wealth." ALL employees will forfeit all bonuses AND deferred comp. above and beyond 250K , per household, the way this bill reads. If your salary is over 250k, you are also giving it back. Of course the auto companies will not be held to the same standard because that is not politically expedient for the administration. What is not being discussed is how many employees who worked for the banks were fired, and then told they will not get what is coming to them, including the years of deferred compensation that was built up over years and came DUE after January 1st.
