KY3 : Child dies in family pool | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO | Local News

Oh you haven't figured that out yet ? It is because lawyers and the county want money....and the family apparently has some. So if at all possible they will create a felony charge to defend, whether an actual crime is likely or not. That is how they tap into a families assets. I mean, they have a pool...so it's not likely that they are poor...cha-ching !

So there you have it. Now it can be the "voters fault" .....that takes the heat off, doesn't it ? The people whose votes would count are leaving. If there was never an E. coli problem to begin with.... what's to discuss ? Talk about a confusing coverup...... Does anyone (that matters) care to speculate on the disappearance of pollution sensitive frogs, damselflys and dragonflys ? Didn't think so.

You reminded me about a 7 year old kid I knew once. Her dad was in prison and always wrote her letters, and would tell her about the activitys he was doing to pass the time. Then one day the girl said... "when I go to prison I wanna be in a band".

There will never be a "trial". They will drag it out long enough to bury him deep in attorney fees and transcript judgements, then once they are sure he and his family are completely broke the attorney will threaten to file a motion to dismiss himself since he "isn't getting paid". He will be forced to take whatever plea agreement the prosecutor and lawyer come up with. Been there / done that.

He is a prior sex offender, that is all anyone cares about. They will either find a reason to convict him, again, or they will bleed him and his family for every dime they are worth and force him into a plea agreement. He is in a loose / loose Witch Hunt situation. They kept him from attending the funerals....They have to convict him now...no matter what. That's just the way they roll.

Those of you that keep saying that "driving is a priveledge" ...are ate up. Driving is a skilled activity, no different than walking, peddling a bicycle, or blending a milkshake. Being held responsible for damages you cause is expected, and should be enforced. But assuming that you will cause damages and being forced to pay for them in advance (regardless) is rediculis. You are just as likely to cause harm to another person by driving a nail as you are by driving a car. If you walk you might break someones toe, if you operate a power tool you might dismember someone or cause their house to burn down. Should we just inact an all inclusive "movement insurance" ? Because if you get out of your chair to do ANYTHING you MIGHT cause serious harm to someone. Legal liability should be enforced through lawsuits, but insurance of any sort should be optional.

There is a court date posted on every summons. You have a choice whether to post bond and just pay the fine before the scheduled date....or have your day in court over it. And just FYI you pay court costs even when you post bond.

The people that signed the tickets and paid the fine lost the right to any further appeal when they plead guilty. The guilty plea was their signature on the back of the ticket. This is a waste of time.

KY3 : Two men are charged with sexually abusing child in Douglas County | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Spri

Good point. I've known of two cases where allegations like that were a conspiracy. One from a guys ex-wife trying to clean up in a divorce, and another by a guy that was trying to destroy a dude that his wife supposably fooled around with. Neither could afford to lawyer-up enough to take it to trial. There's probably several people doing hard time that are totally innocent, and alot more doing time on charges that were extremely exagerrated in the police reports. I think they should make a full and fair jury trial mandatory in sex abuse cases, instead of allowing prosecutors and lawyers to play the plea bargain game. All it takes is one phone call to ruin someones life completely, and alot of upset and emotional ex-spouses/ and ex-girlfriends know that. If a person doesn't have access to some seriously big bucks, they are going down whether innocent or guilty.

It's hard to say whether harsher sentences would actually lessen the occurance of this type of thing, or result in more murders and/or missing kids, in attempt to cover it up. That's a very tough call.

KY3 : Missouri Senate passes bill limiting sexual businesses | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Springfield, MO

So, anyone involved in operating an underground (private) strip club will have to register as a sex offender after this bill makes law ? If not, what are the punishments that they have in mind for nudity in nightclubs ? Because I'm sure it's still going to happen. What parts of the body have to "legally" be covered ? Will cellophane or fishnet be ok ? This is a very stupid and uninforcable law. How much time before possession of a Playboy magazine is a felony ? Comments on this topic are soon to disappear I'm sure.

KY3 : Tests show why texting-while-driving may be more dangerous than DWI | KY3 News, Weather, Sports - Sp

The punishment for texting and driving is crashing your vehicle and seriously injuring yourself and others. That's a pretty harsh punishment , and it's built in, just waiting for someone to try their luck at it. The sentance is already in place, and it doesn't cost other taxpayers a dime to incorporate it ! I see no real need for the lawyers and the state to make money off of it. Nor to tie up the courtrooms any further.

Oh boy...she's really milkin' this isn't she ? My guess is that she really doesn't like her job, and has been looking for a way out of it. Does this woman even go to church regularly ? Does she live and act in all ways like a serious christian ? Does not smoke, or drink to get buzzed, or cuss, or lie, no fooling around without being married, and does not want for worldly material objects ? If you're gonna play the christian role for real Darlin', you can't just pick the guidelines that suit the moment.
What are the latest statistics on names added to the sex offender list each month in Missouri ? 20 - 50 per month, or more ? There needs to be a way to determine the ones that are a bona-fide actual threat to society, from the ones that just get caught up in the system, via exagerrated claims and charges. If they don't start narrowing this down some it won't be long until 1/2 the middle aged people in the state will be on that list. Is this ongoing sex-sting truly about people that are actual predatory threats to children and society, or is this mostly about feeding lawyers and filling prisons ?

Otherwise, set there on your little "acre and a half", buy some popouri, pay your taxes, ..... and be quiet !
Why would anyone summon the help of another, to pull off an insurance fraud (jewelry robbery) scheme ? Insurance fraud of that type wouldn't require the assistance of anyone else. Matter of fact, involving another person is not only unnecessary, it would be extremely unwise. And the email sent to his brother (or anyone on his contacts list) indicates potential computer (password) hacking. What other info was extracted from that hard drive ? Run a key logger on the hard drive and see what else was done during that log-on session, when the email was composed and sent. Surely they have already thought to do all this, right ?
Attempted abduction ? Is it not possible that it was freezing cold out....A ride was offered...and when the offer was declined, the person went on about his/her business ? No crime has been committed, and the assumption that one was "in the works" is simply a result of the media hype that has convinced everyone in America that one in ten americans are dangerous child molesters and rapists. This is a sad situation. I can honestly say that I would hesitate to stop and help a woman or child stranded on the side of the road, on a cold winter nite...for fear of potential repercussion. Everyone is on there own now !
