Oh you haven't figured that out yet ?

It is because lawyers and the county want money....and the family apparently has some. So if at all possible they will create a felony charge to defend, whether an actual crime is likely or not. That is how they tap into a families assets.

I mean, they have a pool...so it's not likely that they are poor...cha-ching !

So there you have it. Now it can be the "voters fault" .....that takes the heat off, doesn't it ? The people whose votes would count are leaving.

If there was never an E. coli problem to begin with.... what's to discuss ? Talk about a confusing coverup......
Does anyone (that matters) care to speculate on the disappearance of pollution sensitive frogs, damselflys and dragonflys ? Didn't think so.

You reminded me about a 7 year old kid I knew once. Her dad was in prison and always wrote her letters, and would tell her about the activitys he was doing to pass the time.

Then one day the girl said... "when I go to prison I wanna be in a band".

There will never be a "trial". They will drag it out long enough to bury him deep in attorney fees and transcript judgements, then once they are sure he and his family are completely broke the attorney will threaten to file a motion to dismiss himself since he "isn't getting paid". He will be forced to take whatever plea agreement the prosecutor and lawyer come up with. Been there / done that.

He is a prior sex offender, that is all anyone cares about. They will either find a reason to convict him, again, or they will bleed him and his family for every dime they are worth and force him into a plea agreement.
He is in a loose / loose Witch Hunt situation.
They kept him from attending the funerals....They have to convict him now...no matter what. That's just the way they roll.

Those of you that keep saying that "driving is a priveledge" ...are ate up.

Driving is a skilled activity, no different than walking, peddling a bicycle, or blending a milkshake.
Being held responsible for damages you cause is expected, and should be enforced. But assuming that you will cause damages and being forced to pay for them in advance (regardless) is rediculis. You are just as likely to cause harm to another person by driving a nail as you are by driving a car. If you walk you might break someones toe, if you operate a power tool you might dismember someone or cause their house to burn down. Should we just inact an all inclusive "movement insurance" ? Because if you get out of your chair to do ANYTHING you MIGHT cause serious harm to someone. Legal liability should be enforced through lawsuits, but insurance of any sort should be optional.

There is a court date posted on every summons. You have a choice whether to post bond and just pay the fine before the scheduled date....or have your day in court over it.

And just FYI you pay court costs even when you post bond.

The people that signed the tickets and paid the fine lost the right to any further appeal when they plead guilty. The guilty plea was their signature on the back of the ticket. This is a waste of time.

Good point. I've known of two cases where allegations like that were a conspiracy. One from a guys ex-wife trying to clean up in a divorce, and another by a guy that was trying to destroy a dude that his wife supposably fooled around with. Neither could afford to lawyer-up enough to take it to trial.
There's probably several people doing hard time that are totally innocent, and alot more doing time on charges that were extremely exagerrated in the police reports.

I think they should make a full and fair jury trial mandatory in sex abuse cases, instead of allowing prosecutors and lawyers to play the plea bargain game. All it takes is one phone call to ruin someones life completely, and alot of upset and emotional ex-spouses/ and ex-girlfriends know that. If a person doesn't have access to some seriously big bucks, they are going down whether innocent or guilty.

So far I haven't heard a single person in favor of this. Therefore it will not happen.

They are just giving people something to pre-occupy thier thoughts while they slip something else in the back door.
