mntvernon, it is not just a brain injury facility, it is also a stroke, spinal cord, ortho, vent weaning, sleep lab & etc... facility. The 9 to 1 ratio counts dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, security, sleep lab, lab, xray, out patient, therapists, social workers, nurses, techs and too many more to mention. Also they provide dietary, outpatient lab, sleep lab & respiratory lab for the VA. I would think that the 13 other facilities have reduced the amount of patients that MRC would have normally received in the past, therefore maybe that's why cut backs are being talked about.
