Yes the money in Politics has turned it into a deadly game of "pay to play". The President's supporters spent 1billion dollars to get him elected, now all these supporters have their hand out for the payback. which is OK EXCEPT the payback is coming from PUBLIC FUNDS via the Stimulus package. Politicians won't come clean until the graft money is wiped out. Just think ...it would be fairer if each individual voter paid $10 for the privilege and the money went direct to the candidate. Also Public Funding is OK. When a company like AIG dinates $104k to Dodds Campaign they rightly expect Dodds help and assistance.
While the Govt Members think it's OK for AIG employees to pay for the failures of their Employer maybe the People should demand Politicians pay for the failure of Govt to manage the Economy properly. Govt mismanagement caused the economic crisis...the hundreds of them should be accountable. They go after AIG to deflect the Public scrutiny from their own guilt. AIG employees are taking the blame for a failure by Government...it's not fair is it? Witch-hunting AIG people is wrong.
