9 to 5 Mac | Apple Intelligence : Samsung continues with anti-Apple rant on Facebook, says iPhone is "old school"

The Galaxy is clearly closer in size to the clunky old cell phone than the iPhone.

9 to 5 Mac | Apple Intelligence : Microsoft admits iPad IS killing netbook market

I always thought the netbook was a neat idea, but balked at the craptastic hardware specs and clunky OS's. After the initial iPad frenzy subsided I finally bought a 32GB iPad and never looked at netbooks again. Planning on buying a second iPad as soon a v2.0 is introduced.

This probably looks like a pretty good deal to the 17% unemployed Americans or the millions of Americans who have lost their homes the last few years.

My goodness! You folks are a bunch of whiny little brats. I bought a USB 3.0 drive from CalDigit and they included a USB 3.0 board for my Mac Pro for free. iMac? Too bad. Upgrade to a Mac Pro or go buy a Windows 7 crap-gadget with USB 3.0 and leave the rest of us happy, productive Mac users alone.

Here's the problem: as soon as the FIRST iPhone was released, Microsoft threw all of their weight into developing a competing product. And here it is: Windows Mobile 7. And it competes very well -- against the FIRST iPhone. They even went as far as duplicating the no cut-and-paste. Brilliant. So if we wait another 3 years, maybe Windows Mobile X will compete favorably with TODAY's iPhone. And then everyone will point out how it's missing all the awesome features that iPhone 8 has.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Having our ideas stolen by pop culture. (Finally!)

I offered my apology on Facebook, and I feel it necessary to repeat it here. I let loose my own flamethrower on Jon, and I'm sorry for that. I'm lamenting the apparent loss of a great potential corporate partner for Soles4Souls, because too many people jumped to the wrong conclusion (that Skechers was ripping off Toms). Jon, you're not to blame for starting the fire, but you may have tossed on a twig or two.

All the outrage might have actually backfired. If you look at Skecher's Bob's pages (http://bit.ly/dojWGp which have since been removed) you can clearly see that they were working with Soles4Souls. So they weren't ripping off Toms, they were giving Soles4Souls some mega-corporate exposure that, sadly, appears to have been pulled. Skechers dips their toes into Christian ministry and the Christians let loose the flamethrowers. Nice.

Stuff Christians Like - Jon Acuff : Having a curious reaction to the prosperity gospel.

Much of what defines "prosperity", especially in America, totally revolves around a completely secular economic system. My guess, Michael, is that you studied hard in school, maybe went to college and earned a degree, then worked hard to earn a good living for yourself. That's a recipe for success no matter what your religious belief (even if you have NO religious belief.) I have been a certified Christian financial counselor for 14 years. I have worked with hundreds of Christians to help them improve their financial position in life. And almost everything I teach is practical and secular: save your money, don't use credit, live within your means, be a dependable employee, educate yourself so you can advance in your career. I'm guessing 90% of Christians in financial straits would pull themselves out following those steps alone. But here is something else I have observed over my 14 years of counseling: I almost never counsel Christians who are committed to paying their tithes to their local church (tithe being the first 10% of their gross income.) When I do, it's usually for estate planning or investment guidance. And when non-tithers commit to titheing and follow through with their commitment, I regularly receive reports of unusual financial blessings (anonymous gifts of money, groceries, bills paid -- sometimes cars and even houses completely paid off, as I experienced). I never meet Christians who say, "I wish I had never started titheing," but I hear testimony after testimony from Christians who say that their financial situations turned around once they started.

That's OK, Kristin. I understand your anger. It wasn't too long ago that I was preparing for my house to be foreclosed and sharing a bowl of oatmeal, the last food we had in the house, with my 8-year-old niece who I was caring for because her mother was in jail. We prayed earnestly that my car wouldn't explode or run out of gas before we got to church that Sunday and I listened to a preacher tell me that I wouldn't have all my problems if I would trust God and pay my tithe. I felt QUITE angry at that moment. Angry enough that I said to myself, "Oh yeah? OK. I'll pay my tithe. And when they take away my house, my car and my niece, I hope he'll have the courage to let me stand on that platform and tell everyone the TRUTH." The only problem with my plan was that they didn't take away my house because a Christian couple showed up the day of the auction and paid off my mortgage. They didn't take away my niece because my sister was released from jail early. They didn't take away my car because my employer gave me an unexpected bonus and I was able to catch up the payments. But that preacher did let me stand on the platform and tell everyone the TRUTH about titheing -- that God IS faithful to His word and that he WILL open the windows of Heaven and pour out such a blessing that I did not have room to contain it.

I'm content to believe that Jesus' propitiation on my behalf was perfect. I don't feel any need to suffer or struggle -- His pain was perfect. I don't feel any guilt in my prosperity because I am a tither, and it is the reward God promised me in Malachi 3:10. I have diligently sought God's will for my life, worked passionately in the gifts God gave me, sowed liberally into my local church and given generously to ministries God has led me to support. Consequently, as Jesse Duplantis says, "I'm not looking for money -- money is looking for me!" Jon, my last home sold in one week in a market saturated with "better" homes. Why? Because I said it would, and I'm in the practice of getting what I say. My daughter wanted a horse, but I didn't want to buy one, so she started praying and believing for a horse. One of my Financial Peace students approached me out of the blue one day and asked if I wanted a horse -- she just gave it to us. And while I had the land, I didn't want to pay to build a fence. Out of the blue, my next-door neighbor approached me the next day, said he wanted to buy a couple of cows and asked me if he paid to fence it in, would I let them graze on my pasture. That's pretty much how it goes for me. God is good and He delights in the prosperity of his people.

9 to 5 Mac | Apple Intelligence : Oh Snap! Kindle disses iPad's sunlight reading capabilities

If I want to read by the pool in direct sunlight, I'll bring my $4.95 paperback. It's better than a Kindle because to turn a page -- you turn the page; it takes 0 milliseconds to update the new page, the fonts are WAY sharper, it has unlimited battery life, if I drop it in the water I can pull it out and it still works, no one ever interrupts my reading by asking, "Whoa! Is that a new paperback?" and if some "undesirable" person asks me what I'm reading, I just raise the book so they can see the cover; when I'm done reading it I can give it away or even just leave it where I am for someone else to enjoy.

You don't want to dress modestly, then you get creeped out at the men drooling all over themselves. LOL! There's a VERY large variety in women's clothing that falls in many ranges between Quaker and Vegas hooker. Maybe you need to stop shopping at Sears and step up to Penney's. (Yes, I'm saying this all tongue-in-cheek. But you just seem to be baiting and as I alluded to in my previous posts, I don't play that.)
