Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent through 7/9

Sounds like you live in Pittsburgh! The PA Supreme Court has ruled that the last tax assessment was unconstitutional and should be redone. Dan Onorato is fighting it tooth and nail saying it was performed correctly in order to inflate property taxes to pay the coffers of a city that is in state receivership! And he wants to run for government of this state. But that's the Democrat way here; tax and spend!

It is neither right nor a privilege. It is the responsiblity of the person. I work and pay for my own health insurance. I make a concerted effort to eat health and excercise (I do yoga). It is my right and privilege to take care of myself, no one else's. Driving is not a right. It is a privilege. If you break the rules and the laws of the road, there are penalties. You cannot obey the laws, you are fined or your license taken away. You do not have a "right" to continue driving if you are a hazard on the road. Constitutional protections are a right. They are not a privilege.

The ONLY American entertainer that deserved this much media coverage was Bob Hope! This man spent numerous Christmases away from his family, entertaining our fighting men and women. During Vietnam, the Viet Cong blew up the hotel he was to stay at moments before he arrived. Michael Jackson never served his country, did very little charity work, died in massive debt and had serious mental issues. Vive l'Entertainer!

Michael Jackson is finally being buried today. My question is why wasn't this much attention lavished on Mother Theresa. This is a person who shunned living in comfort, gave of herself and tried to ease the suffering of the downtrodden. The paradiam to follow is that we cannot be entertainers living a posh lifestyle and excess but we can be like Mother Theresa. Which is more deserving of greater praise?

Oh my goodness! It's another political affair/scandal! The Governor of South Carolina was not out in the woods hiking, he was actually in Argentina with his little female companion! Gasp! Gasp! Shock! Would someone please explain to me why these men betray the trust of not just his constituents, but most importantly his family? What makes them think they can get away with this type of behavior? So, if they have higher political aspirations, why would they jeopardize it? His poor family. He has publically humiliated them. Why would you put your loved ones in such a position?

Mr. Beard: your state is not the only one with a Governor and Legislature trying to tax away to prosperity. We here in Pennsylvania are dealing with the same thing. Our Governor "Fast Eddie" Rendell is trying to push a 16% tax increase on personal income in order to cover a budget shortfall by the end of the month. Heaven forbid if the Governor and Legislature cut spending or "gasp" take a pay cut! Not to mention other taxes they have been talking about. There's nothing like driving out business in the Commonwealth of PA!

I try to buy American as much as possible. However, jobs are going to these countries because the labor unions have artificially inflated the price of labor and the United States has the second highest corporate tax in the world! Japan tops us in that department.

Why not Palin - Voight? Why the man as president and not a woman? I adore Jon Voight but he does not have an administrative background, no experience. Whereas Sarah Palin had administrative experience. Shouldn't she be heading the ticket? Actually, my dream team would be Alan Keyes as President and J.C. Watts as Vice-President. And either Tom Sowell or Walter Williams as Secretary of the Treasury. These guys would really clean up D.C.!

I had to do this once. The young man's accent was so thick, I was asking to repeat himself two of not three times and I still had problems understanding him. I finally had to ask for someone who spoke English. If these companies want to hire help in another country, fine. But if they are dealing with customers here in America, these representatives had better speak fluent English!

Yes, credit cards are wonderful if you pay the balance off in full every month along with budgeting. I used to work for an estate attorney are we were beginning to see more elderly credit card debit along with decedents' estates. We had one estate where the lady had over $52,000.00 in credit card debit. It was astouding to me.

Actually before 1913. It was 1861. Progressive Woodrow Wilson came along in 1913 and began to remove as many impediments as possible. After all, he believed that the Preamble to the Constitution should be done away with.

There is no census this year. The census is next year. According to the Constitution, a census must be taken every ten years. This is mainly for taxes and gerrymandering purposes. It does not include redistribution of wealth. When the questionnaire arrives, just indicate how many in your household. You do not need to answer the other questions.

Oh Elliott! What are we to do with you? A Liberal in the time of our Founding Fathers is equalt to a Libertarian today. Today's Liberals are equal to Socialists. Our Founding Fathers were brilliant men and also possessed a great insight to the human condition. They knew that freedom and liberty controlled in the hands of the individual was better than freedom and liberty controlled in the hands of government. These men feared large governments. That is why the Constitution limits federal government power and puts it in the hands of "the people".

Elliott, we are a Republic, not a Democracy. To explain, a Republic in simple terms it simply is where "We the people" dictate to the government. We have a Constitution wherein we tell the government what our freedoms are. In a democracy, your Progressive ideology, the Government dictates to the people. In such, the Goverment defines and institutions the freedoms they feel are necessary and correct. Woodrow Wilson was a Progressive (also our most racist President) who believed that we should do away with the Preamble to the Constitution and allow "enlightened people" in the government to make decisions for the citizenry. In other words, the Government should tell the American citizens how they should save their money, live their lives and cowtow to the "enlightened Government".

Elliott, sweety, apparently they did not teach American history, European history or the Constitution in the school you attended. If you study history, particularly economic history, you will know that any form of socialism, i.e. Facism, Communism, Nazism never, repeat never, creates freedom, wealth or a stable society. I can give you historically documented fact where high taxes, government regulation and oversight do not create wealth. It only kills it, along with civil liberties and freedom of choice.
