Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Tea Parties

Charleston, SC Tea Party Senator Jim DeMint and South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford both attended the Charleston, SC Tea Party, and both made wonderful speeches. We had so many attend that a very busy road (between 5:30 and 7:30... when the Tea Party was) was forced closed because the police could not keep the crowd from overflowing into the street. Speaking of police, we didn't have too much of a presence at the event -- no more than it would take to say... close off a road? maybe a dozen...Everyone was peaceful, including a group of Union promoters that seemed to be trying to incite a riot (although it didn't work) and one young man wearing an Obama '08 shirt, who came alone, and just seemed interested in having a discussion with people holding opposing viewpoints. It was a great event, and while the site was significant, i think if it had been held in a more open location with more parking, we might have had more attend. I had to leave before it was over, however, so i think the crowd probably swelled towards the end.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Proposed "Cap & Trade" Policy Looks Like A Regressive Tax

to quote a responder to the townhall.com article, "The dam fool part is that C&T here could have no possible effect on global warming, since the rest of the world is blissfully continuing to increase emission of the greenhouse gases which may or may not be responsible for the warming which may or may not be occuring. " This is absolutely the truth, and I can't possibly say it any better. I'm 24, I live in the south, and I don't see how C&T is going to even make a dent in the problem.
